Research Design and Methodology

This chapter outlines the research methodology used in the study. It discusses three parts: (1) the qualitative research design used, data collection tools, 30 research participants selected through stratified random sampling, and data analysis methods; (2) the one-on-one interview data gathering procedure; and (3) ethical considerations like informed consent and confidentiality.

Chapter III

Research Design and Methodology

Chapter 3 includes three (3) parts: (1) Research Design, Instrument, Research

participants and Analysis, (2) Data Gathering Procedure, and (3) Ethical

Considerations.

Part one, Research Design, Instrument, Respondents and Analysis, restates the

purpose and focus of the study and the details of the research design, tools for

analysis, research participants and the data analysis procedure to be employed in

the study.

Part two, Data Gathering Procedure, discusses the procedure on how the

researcher will collect data and information needed in the analysis

Part Three, Ethical Considerations, the steps to be taken by the researcher to

establish consent from data sources.

Research Design, Instrument, Research Participants and Analysis

This study employed the qualitative type of research design in which to

use to understand further the opinions about the covid-19 vaccine in Zone II

Baldoza Lapaz.

According to Patrick Aspers (2019), qualitative research as an iterative process in

which to improved understanding to the scientific community. He stated that

qualitative research gathers important opinions that can be used for your target

audience through recording. This method of research was considered appropriate

and reliable for the study to determine their perception towards the effectiveness

of covid-19 vaccine.

The researchers used the method of giving an interview on a selected

area which is Zone II Baldoza Lapaz to determine their perception towards the

effectiveness of covid-19 vaccine. Nirmalya Kumar (1993), explained that using

informants to qualitative increase the reliability and validity of informant reports.

These aspects involved one – on – one interview. Moreover, Gerrit H Van

Bruggen, et al (2002) stated that using multiple informants improves the quality

of response data and thereby the validity of research findings.

There are thirty (30) informants in which the researcher identify by

giving a one – on – one interview and to determine their perception towards the

effectiveness of covid-19 vaccine. The informants will answer our questions

during the interview to determine their perception towards the effectiveness of

covid-19 vaccine.
Respondents

The population of Zone II Baldoza Lapaz is 4,317 and we decided to have

only 30 employed informants to participate. The informants were determined by

using Slovin's formula through stratified random sampling.

Data Gathering Method

After validating the answer of informants, the researchers personally

have a one – on – one interview and also distributed the questions on the

selected 30 employed informants before on the given time of interview. The

questions consist what are their perception towards the effectiveness of the

covid-19 vaccine. The researchers assured the informants regarding

confidentiality of their response. The answers of the informants are being

gathered, understand, analyze and taken by a camera so in this way we can

assure that their answers are correct.

The data gathered from the informants were recorded in a camera. With this

method we fully observe the answers of the 30 employed informants to

determine their perception towards the effectiveness of covid-19 vaccine.

Ethical considerations

The researchers performed the validity and reliability on one – on – one

interview of the informants whether the questions are accurate or not. The

prepared questions that we use during the interview was sent to a panel expert

for their opinion

All the experts reported the questions that we used during the interview is valid

for getting the required information. The researchers followed the changes and

recommendation that is given and integrated it in the final draft. The researchers

made a questions and was answered by 30 employed informants. The

instrument was considered reliable because of the Slovin’s formula which is

366.15 or 367 population but among with this high population in Zone II Baldoza

Lapaz we decided that we choose 30 employed informants because we need to

follow the health protocols.

In order to achieve the ethical values in the study, the researchers

made an informed consent letter for the informants. Then the researchers give a

copy of questions that they will answer according to their own perception or

observation towards the effectiveness of covid-19 vaccine. The letter assured

that the researchers will keep all the informants information confidential. They

also make sure that the respondents signed on the letter to know that the have

done it voluntarily.
