EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 10 s. 2018


RE-ORGANIZATION AND STRENGTHENING OF BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER
COMMITTEE (BPOC)

WHEREAS , Executive Order No. 309, as amended the organization of Peace and Order
Councils and Committee at all levels of Local government units including the regional offices;

WHEREAS , memberships in the Peace and Order Councils particularly at the barangay levels
has been expended for the inclusion of the other sectoral representatives who are performing
significant roles necessary in the promotion and maintenance of law and order in the Barangay.

WHEREAS , there is a need to reorganized and strengthen the BARANGAY PEACE AND
ORDER COMMITTEE (BPOC) to cope with its expanded functions and membership;

WHEREAS , said combination/expansion is expected to unload the presiding officer valuable


resources and time-consuming meetings/conferences and enable the members to become more
active towards the development of the barangay;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DOMINIC R. RAGAS SR. , Punong Barangay of Barangay San Juan ,
Kalayaan , Laguna, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law , do hereby reorganized and
strengthen the Barangay Peace and Order Committee to be composed of the following.

Composition;

WHEREAS, the BPOC shall conduct a regular meeting at least once a month and may
likewise hold a special meeting when the need arises or in case of emergency;

WHEREAS, the BPOC shall perform the following functions, to wit;

a. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of order programs & projects;


b. Serve as an information-gathering mechanism;
c. Monitor & check the nefarious activities of criminal elements;
d. Identify Barangay constituents with strong deviant behavior for referral to appropriate
authorities;
e. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher level
peace and order councils;
f. Formulate plans and recommend measures which will improve or enhance peace and
order;
g. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti-crime
movements; and
h. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order in their respective areas
and submit a report with appropriate recommendations to the higher level POC.
