materials with you before you start with the module.
➔ Please read carefully the instructions in each section. If there are instructions that you don’t
understand, please ask your parents, guardians or older siblings for guidance.
➔ The activity that you will submit to me is ONLY the “Deepen” section of this Instructional
Sheet. Please submit them PUNCTUALLY.

Good day my dear student! Praise be Jesus and Mary! Welcome to another week of fun
learning! I have prepared activities and new lessons for you to acquire. But before you start,
PRELIMINARIES kindly bow down your head and say your personal prayer.
As you go along in this module, in the long run and on your own, you will be able to
recognize the Philippine money and apply addition in mathematical problems and real-life
situations as applied in preserving God’s creation.

Have you ever been asked the question “how many”? How many are you in the family?
How many pencils you have right now? When you are asked the question “how many”
surely you think of a number, right?

Our numeration system is called the Hindu-Arabic


system also called the Decimal System. This system
uses the digits 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
In this chapter, you will discover many things
about our numeration system and money. You will be
able to understand the relationships between these
numbers. You will know how to order numbers,
DISCOVER compare, read and write Philippine money and a
glimpse on adding numbers. You will demonstrate
mastery in reading and writing numbers and solve
mathematical problems.

At the end of this module, you will be able to:


 Read and write money in symbol and in words through Php 1000 in pesos and
centavos. (M3NS-Ic-16.3)
 Compare values of the different denominations of coins and bills (M3NS-Id-22.2)
 Add 3 to 4-digit numbers up to 3 addends with sums up to 10 000 without and with
regrouping (M3NS-Id-27.6)

DISCUSS
Kindly get your Math 3 book and open it to the following pages for the discussion. Please
be guided and follow the instructions in each lessons!

CHAPTER 1: NUMERATION SYSTEM AND MONEY


Lesson 1: Comparing, Reading and Writing Money in Symbols and in Words
Instructions:
➔ Read and understand the discussions on the following
pages with the guidance of your parent, guardian, or
older sibling: pages 28-29, pages 32-33, and pages 35-
36
➔ As part of your exercise on this lesson kindly answer,
“Concept Review” on pages 33 and 37-38 on your
book.
CHAPTER 2: ADDITION OF WHOLE NUMBERS
Lesson 2: Adding 3 to 4-Digit Numbers with and without Regrouping
Instructions:
➔ Read and understand the discussions on the following
pages with the guidance of your parent, guardian, or
older sibling: pages 42-43 and page 45.
➔ As part of your exercise on this lesson kindly answer
”Concept Review” on page 44 and page 46 on your
book.

Now that you have learned the numeration system and addition, challenge yourself and
answer the following. Kindly read first the instructions for this section.
INSTRUCTIONS:
➔ You may write your answer in another sheet of paper
OR you may photocopy your answer on your book. Just
don’t forget to include your FULL NAME,
GRADE/SECTION, SUBJECT and the DATE in the
paper.
