Measure the currents applying the insturen to the neta conductrs of the gonerstors under all load conditions occurring, To avoid overheating of the ‘enertots, these cucents must not exceed a value equal Yo about 50% ofthe generator rats cucont. Higher currents should be limited by installing neutral reactors or similar means. \With the generator operating by it, no droop compensating ‘equipment is required. It can be deactivated by short circuiting the secondary side of the intermediate twansformers Maintenance No periodic maintenance inspections of the THYRIPART excitation system are raquired. Excessive dust deposits should, howaver, be remaved using dry, compressed air. In the case of faults it is advisable to chock voltage sontroler, excitation equipment and main machine with exciter separately, Fo troubleshooting inthe thyristor voltage controller all the leads connecting excitation equipment and thyristor voltage controller must be disconnacted and if present, the intermediate transformers of the droop-compensating equipment secondary short-circuited. In this case the ‘generator voltage must rise above the maximum reference value as given under ‘Descrition’.
