Introduction

Microsoft's Windows 10 is the most recent version of its operating system. It was officially
published in 2015, and it was initially supplied free of charge to eligible Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
customers. This new edition incorporates features from the previous two iterations to better fit
customers' needs on both desktop/laptop computers and mobile devices. The most noticeable
change in Windows 10 is that the Start screen tiles from Windows 8 have been replaced, and the
Start Menu has been restored. The vertical toolbars that displayed on the sides of the screen were
also deleted. These enhancements make this Windows version more user-friendly for users of
desktop/laptop computers as well as mobile devices.

I Windows Editions

There are numerous editions of Windows 10 available, each with its own set of features, use
cases, and target devices. Certain versions are only available on devices purchased directly from the
OEM, while others, such as Enterprise and Education, are only available through volume licencing
channels. The three editions that will be discussed are the Baseline editions, Organizational editions
and Device-specific editions.

Firstly, the Baseline editions. For example, Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.
Windows 10 Home was created with the average home user in mind. It can be use in PC’s, tablets
and 2-in-1 PC’s. Remote desktop, Hyper-V, Trusted Boot, and other advanced capabilities aren't
available. For the vast majority of home users, this shouldn't be an issue. Despite the fact that it is a
more basic device, Microsoft has packed it with important features for the general public. Outlook,
Cortana, the world most personal digital assistant, Microsoft Edge, and OneNote are among the
essential features that a home user might benefit from. Moreover, you will find continuum tablet
mode for touch-enabled devices; Windows Hello face recognition, iris and fingerprint login; and a
wide selection of universal Windows apps, including Photos, Maps, Mail, Calendar, Music, and
Video*, available straight out of the box. Other Windows device capabilities, including as Hello login,
Pen sketching, touch displays, and more, are also available under Windows 10 Home. They are also
bringing the Xbox gaming experience to Windows 10, allowing games and gamers to connect with
the Xbox Live gaming community, capture and share gameplay, and allowing Xbox One owners to
play their games on any Windows 10 PC in their home.

All of the features included in Windows 10 Home are included in the Windows 10 Pro
edition. It also includes additional capabilities not found in Home, like as Remote Desktop, Windows
Information Protection, BitLocker, and other business-oriented tools. The windows 10 Pro offers a
simple and flexible management. For example, for more efficient business, the management of your
device, identity, and application will be simplified. It has frictionless management and seamless
productivity, as well as easy control over mobile devices and PCs and multi-device management. In
addition, Microsoft Pro adds more security features to protect your business information, personal
information, and equipment which can strengthened the protection. For example, such as BitLocker
and BitLocker to Go are hard encryption options for external devices and Windows Information
Protection (WIP) is used to prevent data loss due to human error. This windows also offers
multifactor authentication which is simple and safe. Besides, this windows also provides a feature to
protect against start up threats which is The Windows Defender System Guard.

The next editions are Organizational Editions such as Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows
10 Education. The Windows 10 Enterprise is an evaluation programme for IT professionals who want
to give Windows 10 Enterprise a try on behalf of their company. If you are an IT expert or manage
business networks or devices professionally, you should install this evaluation. Windows 10
Enterprise is designed to address the needs of large and midsize organizations by providing IT
professionals with advanced protection against modern security threats, flexible deployment,
update, and support options. Other than that, it also provides comprehensive device and app
management.

Additionally, Windows 10 Education focuses on delivering education directly to students,

reducing educator workload. Windows 10 devices can be used in place of traditional blackboards by
teachers and educators, allowing for more interactive learning and engagement. It is distributed
through Academic Volume Licensing and has been widely utilised in school for individualised
learning supported by education-centric applications, all at inexpensive rates, thanks to the inclusion
of Windows educational software and its design with desktop users in mind. It is built on Windows
10 Enterprise and delivers the enterprise-grade manageability and security that many schools
require. Windows 10 Education is effectively a Windows 10 Enterprise edition. The Windows 10
Education Edition has the same features as the Windows Enterprise Edition, however some default
settings, such as Cortana, are removed.

Last but not least, the device-specific editions. Windows 10X was a special edition of
Windows 10 that Microsoft has been working on as part of the Windows NT family. On October 2,
2019, it was unveiled as an operating system that will enable dual-screen devices like the Surface
Neo. Windows 10X will support single-display devices, Microsoft stated on May 4, 2020. Installing
the image file and Microsoft Emulator from the Microsoft Store is the only way to get access to
Windows 10X. The architecture of Windows 10X is comparable to the May 2020 release of Windows
10 Update 2004. Unlike earlier Windows releases, however, Windows 10X is devoid of legacy
components, resulting in much improved speed. The Taskbar icons, for example, are positioned to
the centre rather than the left and are automatically hidden until pressed. This was created with
dual-screen devices in mind, but it's now being adapted for single-screen devices. In addition, the
Action Center is now known as Quick Settings. All legacy components are removed from Windows
10X, and legacy apps are executed in an emulator.

II Security features in windows 10 and compare with previous windows product.

In windows 10, Windows Hello uses biometrics to provide a more secure way of accessing your
device, Microsoft Passport, apps, data, and online resources. Moreover, the BitLocker is much
improved, is highly manageable, and can be automatically provisioned on most new devices and the
UEFI Secure Boot helps prevent malware from embedding itself within hardware or starting before
the OS. It is because the trusted Boot can help maintaining the integrity of the rest of the OS.
On the other hand, Windows 7 pass the hash attacks enable attackers to steal identities, traverse
across networks, and evade detection. The BitLocker offers optionally configurable disk encryption.
Malware can hide within the hardware or in the operating system itself, and there is no way to
validate integrity once it has been compromised.

III Comparison between windows 10 32-bit and 64-bit

In windows 10 32-bit system, it can address a maximum of 4 GB RAM. 32-bit system actually
support 4,294, 967, 296 of bytes. The actually limit often less than around 3.5 GB since part of the
register is used to store other temporary values besides memory addresses. Besides, the 32-bit also
can-do multi-tasking but not as much as 64-bit.

However, in a 64-bit system can address more than 4 GB RAM. It is actually support 18, 446, 744,
073, 709, 551, 616 of bytes or 17, 179, 869, 184 GB of memory. If a computer has a 8 GB RAM, it
better has a 64-bit processor. Otherwise, at least 4 GB of the memory will be inaccessible by the
CPU. Users can do a lot of multi-tasking and easily switch between various applications without any
windows hanging problems.

IV Step on how to manage and install Windows 10 desktop

There are also steps on how to manage and install Windows 10 desktop. The first step is
check your device meets the Windows 10 system requirements. The minimum specs needed to run
Windows 10 is you need CPU of 1 GHz or faster processor, RAM is 1GB for Windows 10 32-bit or 2GB
for Windows 10 64-bit, the storage should be 32GB of space or more, GPU is DirectX 9 compatible or
later with WDDM 1.0 driver, then the display should be 800x600 resolution or higher. The Second
step to manage and install Windows 10 is create USB installation media. Visit Microsoft's Windows
10 download page and select “Download tool now” under the “create Windows 10 installation
media” section. Transfer the downloaded installer tool to a USB drive. Continuously, the third step is
to Run the installer tool. Open the installer tool by clicking on it. Accept Microsoft’s terms, and then
select “Create installation media for another PC” on the “What do you want to do?” page. After
selecting which language, you want Windows 10 to run in, and which edition you want as well (32-
bit or 62-bit), you’ll be asked what type of media you want to use. Installing from a USB drive is
definitely the preferred option but you can also install from a CD or ISO file. Once you choose your
device, the installer tool will download the required files and put them onto your drive.

Moreover, the fourth step is you should use your installation media. Insert your installation
media into your device and then access the computer’s BIOS or UEFI. These are the systems that
allow you to control your computer’s core hardware. The process of accessing these systems is
unique to each device, but the manufacturer’s website should be able to give you a helping hand
here. Generally, you'll need to press the F2, F12 or Delete keys as your computer boots up. After
that, the fifth step is change your computer's boot order. Once you have access to your computer’s
BIOS/UEFI you’ll need to locate the settings for boot order. You need the Windows 10 installation
tool to be higher up on the list than the device’s current boot drive: this is the SSD or HDD that your
existing OS is stored on. You should move the drive with the installer files to the very top of the boot
order menu. Now, when you restart your device the Windows 10 installer should load up first. Then,
the sixth step is restarting your device. Save your settings in the BIOS/UEFI and reboot your device.
Finally, you are able to complete the installation. Your device should now load up the Windows 10
installation tool on restart. This will guide you through the rest of the installation process.

Conclusion

Windows 10 takes significantly less time to load than Windows 7. In Windows 10, the
stability and performance have been considerably enhanced. It is safer to use the most recent
version of Windows. Despite the fact that Windows 7 is now safe. However, as with Windows XP, it
is unclear when Microsoft will end support for Windows 7. In terms of gaming, it comes with DirectX
12, which promises great frame rates in future titles. We can upgrade Windows 10 using the
"Update" option, as this will neither harm or remove our stuff. Unfortunately, Microsoft will have
access to your personal information in order to provide you with better service and improvements.
Upgrading to Windows 10 can cause your computer to crash. If this occurs, you will have to spend
hours trying to remedy the problem. It isn't suitable for older computers. Upgrading the computer
can cause it to slow down since the out-of-date hardware is insufficient to run the new system
smoothly.
