The Importance of Diversity in the Workplace

A. Based on Video 1, discuss one (1) importance of workplace diversity.

to a successful, thriving workplace and a fair work culture.

B. In your perspective, is it possible for a sound collaboration to occur from a diverse set of
employees?

Most Company Employees are needed to efficient training getting acknowledgement a higher
level of intercultural sensitivity and greater advantages then Collaborating also makes
employees more responsible, which goes a long way in raising their motivation levels, especially
when teams work virtually.

Cross-Cultural Communications

C. Based on Video 2, how does cross-cultural communications address workplace conflicts and
diversity barriers?

Cultural clashes happen when other people’s behaviour compromises our own values. Often,
when you don’t understand or don’t agree with a behaviour, it means that there are conflicting values
under the water line. Learning about differences can be useful as a starting point. But individuals are
unique; you can never predict a person’s behaviour based on his or her nationality.

D. Why is it beneficial to have cross-cultural communication in the tourism and hospitality


workplace?

Hospitality and tourism present a unique opportunity to understand new cultural experiences
for both employees and the tourists. It is important for the personnel to understand and
appreciate different cultures to enhance the nature of their interactions with tourists this
industry must endeavor to train their personnel to appreciate and accommodate people from
diverse backgrounds around the world. As such, workplace diversity not only facilitates easy
understanding of different cultural, social and economic perspectives but also enhances the
delivery of satisfactory services through communication and observation.
