Method Statement for MIVAN MODIFICATION WORK

1. PURPOSE:

This method statement describes the work procedure to be followed for modification of aluminium formwork as per site
condition wherever supplied aluminium panels are not getting fixed due to dimensions’ variations or shape etc. at
Joyville Shapoorji Housing project, Hadapsar Annex.

2. Scope:
The Method Statement refers to work procedure contained with Joyville specifications which explain for
modification of aluminium formwork

3. Reference documents:
This document should be read in conjunction with GFC drawing for execution of work at site

4. Tools:
o Grinding Machine, Pencil, Marker, Measuring Tape, Compass for angular measurement, Cutting Machine, Welding
Machine

5. Machineries, tools, Equipment's & Manpower: -Raw Material:

Engineer/supervisor 01
Safety Engineer/ Safety steward 01
Quality Control Engineer/QA QC technician 01

o Arranging all required resources to carry out the job.

C. QC manager shall be responsible for

o Organizing testing of material if required
o Preparing documents, reports for submission to consultant/client.
o Auditing of site procedures, ITPs method statement and compliance.

D. Site Engineers are responsible for:

o Identify the location for erection of Tower Crane as per logistic plan.

o Allotment of resources.
o Compliance with this procedure and relevant project specified requirements. Notifying Site
engineer after completion of erection work.
o Coordinating with store, safety, PNM.
o Taking safety measure necessary to ensure safety of all personnel involved

E. Site P&M Engineer

o Ensuring all machineries in working condition & Healthy condition Inspection of all machineries/tools to be
used.
o Ensuring Proper inspection & maintenance of machineries whenever required.

6. METHODOLOGY & INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

SORTING:

While placing panels as per drawing some panel not fit at site or as per site requirement such panels need to
be modified with their dimension (height or length) or shape. We first sort / categories out such panels to
match the site requirement.

MARKING:

Modification Dimension either linear or angular are marked on original panel. Modification dimension are
marked with pencil or marker with help of measuring tape (compass for angular measurement). Worker
should wear hand gloves, safety jacket, and helmet and safety shoes while marking the panels.

CUTTING:

Marked panels are then cut by hand cutting machine to required dimension. Dimension of panel need to be a
precisely cut and fair finish. While cutting it is mandatory to wearing hand gloves, safety glasses, safety jacket,
and helmet, safety shoes.

WELDING:

After cutting panel to the required dimension, profile or side rails need to be fixed by Welding with Argon gas
(Mig Welding MIC used with 16 guage wire). While welding it is mandatory for worker to follow safety
measures like wearing of welding Helmet, Safety Glasses, Leather gloves, Apron and safety shoes.

Acid Washing :

All components and panels has to be dip in acid containing tank for removal dirt,dust and other particles stitched
over surface. Workers should ensure to dip component / panel fully in tank not in submerged condition for at least
25 minutes.Shelf life of acid will be 15 days after putting in container and need to be replace by concern vendor on
its own.

Water cleaning :

Repaired and cleaned material will be washed by water through jet pressure machine.

HAND OVER:

After modification the panel is hand over to supervisor in ready to place condition.

7. QUALITY ASSURANCE:

o Assurance of approved methods and materials are being used and conformance of the specifications
while actual execution of work Inspection and monitoring of work.
o Incoming material inspection and review of test certificates as when required.
o Checking of installed alu-form panels as per approved WMS.

8. DOCUMENTS:

o GFC Drawing and specifications /Consultant approval

o Checklist for electrical slab conducting work and Alu-Form work.
o Test certificate at the time of receiving of material.

• Proper PPE are used by the workman while working.
• Ensure proper use of working platform for working at height.
• All soiled gloves/cloth, scrap of wires/cables, packing materials, plastics etc. must be removed &
