This manual describes the DICOM installation of the GE OEC Fluorostar Compact and GE OEC
Fluorostar Series systems.
The network administrator must have made the connection data available.
A form exists for this purpose (DICOM communication parameters), which the network
administrator responsible for DICOM servers should complete in advance.
If possible the DICOM Conformance Statement should be made available before the
installation, and certainly during the installation.
It must also be clarified who is to provide the network cable, and the type of cable (RJ48 / twisted
pair / cross over, etc.).

1.1.Network requirements
Ethernet Network supporting 10Mbit/s or 100Mbit/s (10Base-T or 100Base-TX)
IPv4
CAUTION Connecting the Fluorostar to an IT network including other equipment could result in
unidentified risks. It is the responsibility of the organization maintaining the IT network to
identify, analyze, evaluate and control these risks. Any changes to the IT network such as
changing the configuration, connecting additional devices, removing, upgrading or updating
devices could introduce new risks and must be analyzed.
The following connection data is required for every DICOM server and must be clarified before
installation. A form is provided for this purpose, which the network administrator should complete
beforehand at the installation site.
2 Gateway address
192.168.0.1 or no address
Only if the server is in a different network and a
transmission must be established via a gateway.
192.168.0.201
If the Fluorostar is installed in a network with a
fixed IP address, then this IP address should be
configured on the Fluorostar
Rendered PDF File Page 14 of 40 DOC1791327, Rev:2
The network administrator requires the following information from the Fluorostar:
IMPLEMENTATION_VERISON = OEC_Fluorostar
LOCAL_APPL_CONTEXT_NAME = 1.2.840.10008.3.1.1.1
NOTE The list of possible settings varies greatly from service to service and is described in detail in the
respective DICOM Conformance Statement.
In some IT installations, it is not allowed to make a ping. Ask the local network
NOTE administrator if it is allowed/possible to send a ping to the DICOM device to check the
network connection.
Search for patients is only possible in the examinations database, not in the patient
database. Hits are therefore only found if examinations exist for the patient sought.

Each DICOM device setup contains a list of configured DICOM servers as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE: You can configure up to 10 different devices for every DICOM service, except Worklist, MPPS
and RDSR.
All DICOM device setups need the following information (Figure 5). In addition to that, for some
devices additional information is required.
Alias DIC_PRINT Choose name for the device. The alias name is
internally used for the filename of the configuration
file and for the button labeling.
NOTE The fields Alias, AE Title, IP Address and Port must not be empty
