V. PROCEDURE:A.
Preliminary Activities
1. Morning Prayer via AVP
2. Rules and Reminders for Online Classes (Practicing Netiquettes)
3. Attendance (Based on the Participants on Google Meet/Zoom)
4. Motivation: WHEEL OF FORTUNE The teacher will share her screen and SPIN THE WHEEL of theonline random name
picker (https://www.randomnamepicker.net/spin-wheel) with the names of her students. The lucky student will look at
their cell phone and share to the class what was the last video he orshe watched. This will continue for at least three
tries.

B. Lesson Proper
ACTIVITY: VIEWING
The teacher introduces to the students different genres of viewing.
The teacher will show different viewing materials (movie clip, trailer, news flash, internet-based program,
documentary, video, etc.)


The students will try to identify the
genre of the materials viewed.
They will be given 5 seconds to
write their answers on any piece
of paper. Their answers will be
checked along the discussion.

ANALYSIS The following questions will be used as guide questions for the discussions;
1. What are differences of clips you have seen?
2. When and where do you usually see these clips?
3. How did you identify that video clip presented earlier is an example of a movie clip? Trailer? News flash?
Weather report? Internet based program? Documentary? Videos?
4. What do you think is the purpose of each clip? Who do you think is their intended audience?
5. How are these relevant to our situation today

VIEWING MATERIALS
are things that are designed to be seen, viewed or watched. 
As we are surrounded by these things it is important to know to which category or genre do, they belong.
GENRE
Is a term for any category of literature or other forms of art or entertainment
It is a category or a group
Example: 
Romeo and Juliet belongs to the genre of DRAMA or PLAY
The Song “Ice Cream” by Black Pink belongs to the K-pop Genre of music

GENRES OF VIEWING MATERIALS 


Compilation or group of Materials designed to be seen, watched or viewed.

Some of the Genres of Viewing Materials are


Movie Clips – a short video from a longer film or movie
Trailer – are selected group of scenes that are selected to advertise a movie. It is often called a preview
News Flash – is a single item of important news that is being broadcasted separately and often interrupts other
programs
Weather Report – is a systematic statement of the existingand predicted weather conditions over a specific area
Internet Based Program – a program that is informative andcan be discussed through websites
Documentary – is a movie, a television, or radio programthat is based on actual records or reports
Video – is a digital recording of an image or set of images

APPLICATION: Directions: The teacher will show a video clip and then the students will guess what genre is being
presented. They will use the “raise hand button” if they wish to answer.
