Classical Control Systems

The course aims to provide a thorough grounding in analysis and design of control systems. It will cover topics such as open and closed loop systems, transfer functions, feedback control system design using root locus and frequency response methods. The course outline includes introductions to control system components, sensors, wiring diagrams, motor starting methods, interface circuits, timers, star-delta motor connections, speed control methods, and soft starting for induction motors. Practical exercises will also be implemented. The course will take place over 3 training days.

Classical

Control Systems
Introduction:

To provide a thorough grounding in the analysis and design of control

systems, to become familiar with the terminology and nomenclature
of open and closed loop systems. To develop an understanding of
the transfer function relationships between input and output signals
of single-input single-output systems. To be able to relate closed
loop performance requirements to the design of negative feedback
control systems and to gain experience of using the root locus and
frequency response methods for analyzing and designing control
systems.

Course Outline:

• Introduction of Control systems.

• The main components of classic control.
• Explain types of sensors; Theory of operation & wiring.
• The symbols of main components & wiring diagram.
• Direct on line starting method of induction motor.
• explain the common mistakes during the design stage.
• Design and Implementation of interface circuits.
• Design and Implementation of practical exercises.
• Design and Implementation of practical exercises.
• Reverse Direction principle for AC Motor & DC Motor.
Course Outline:

• The electrical & mechanical interlock.

On/Off delay timer, Flasher timer, etc.).
• Design and Implementation of control circuits, each of them contain timer
as a main part.
• Design and Implementation of practical exercises.
• The difference between Star connection & Delta connection for Induction
motor.
• Star/Delta starting method.
• Design the power and control circuits of one direction induction motor with
starting Star/Delta.
• Design the power and control circuits of two directions induction motor
with starting Star/Delta.
