Vocalcom Requirements Network 1.0

This document outlines the network configuration requirements for deploying the Hermes.Net software, including specific port access rules for IIS servers, CTI servers, and agent/supervisor stations. It recommends setting up separate voice and data VLANs when deploying the VoIP functionality. Bandwidth calculations are also provided, estimating the bandwidth needs per agent for VoIP protocols, Hermes web pages, and agent status updates.

2 NETWORK CONFIGURATION

Hermes.Net software is a Thin Client solution, the ACD telephony relies on the OnXMedia engine.
VoIP implementation and web access through a browser requires specific settings.

2.1 ACCESS RULES - LIST OF PORTS BY SERVER

The following ports must be available:

2.1.1 IIS SERVERS

Role Module Port Protocol Action

http 80 tcp
https 443 tcp
MediaServer 5001 tcp
IIS Permitted
Screen Sharing 5002 tcp
On Data 5003 tcp
On Data WS 5004 tcp

2.1.2 CTI SERVERS

2.2 VOIP Configuration

Recommendations:

When deploying Hermes.net/HMP, we strongly recommend setting-up:

- Voice VLAN
- Data VLAN
If not feasible, we recommend applying a prioritization on VoIP packet; however, it will impact the QoS (Quality of
Service).
As part of the implementation of a server management with tools such as (Nagios ...) we discourage the
deployment on the network cards used by Hermes.net. It’s better to deploy a Management VLAN on other cards.

2.3 Bandwidth Calculation

VoIP
G.711 protocol = 88 Kbps

Hermes Web
Warning: This sizing depends on number of scripts and their characteristics (including pictures), as shown in
the following example:

Script page size = 80 Kbps

2 pages per minute per agent script
Bandwidth: 80K * 8 bits * 2 pages/60 = 22 Kb/s (per agent)

Headband agent
KeepAlive, Call status, memo, etc. ~ 1 Kb/s (per agent)
