7. Ensure weather condition is good and the wind

speed is low during liner fixing work. No activity
will be carried out during wind.

8. First aid & emergency preparedness for the site activity.

 Work Location/Access Requirements-

Roof Sheet
1. The proper access to reach above roof top for fixing panels.

2. The stacked bunch of panels at roof should be on

one side of actual fixing location.

3. The continuous access in both direction (Front and

side) must be available for installation of roof panel.
Clear access by scaffolding steps to be provided both
sides.
Wall sheets

1. The suitability of the ground for the erection of the

mobile scaffolding and load stability (for example
whether the ground is flat and firm) well compacted.
2. Wall cladding area should be free from any obstructions for
working.

 Work Methodology-
1. Ensure the crane has positioned in well manner
before lifting begins. Traffic control and Entire area
should be barricade and proper signs to be provided
2. The trained Rigger will go top of sheeting material
and fix the lifting tools and tackles to sheet
material.
3. Only one bay safety net will be provided.
4. The web sling has to be properly fixed to for the
spreader bar, and the web sling will be attached to
the lifting fixture (2 nos.) below sheeting bunch
approximate weight 0.5 T ton, at appropriate location
at lifting point. 1 no. crane in such a way that
material while lifting will remain absolute horizontal
position.
5. Use of double-sided 2 tag line guide rope to control
the load.
6. After fixing web slings to the said material, the rigger will keep
safe distance.
7. After putting load on the structure rafter, sheets will
be distributed on the purlins horizontally or vertically
it depends up on structure design, simultaneously
screwing will be done by the self-tapping screw and
screw machine.
8. While moving on the roof safety belt will be used
with the standard lifeline supported at the ridge and
the eave.
9. One by one sheet will be fixed on purlin at that time
full body safety harness will be used by workers.
10. Man power movements to happen using ladder with
rope grab fall arrester or boom lift.
11. After completion of single sheeting of roof Z section
will be lift by crane & to be kept on roof sheet.
12. After Fixing of the roof bottom sheet Z sections will
be placed on the roofing sheet at appropriate location
and distance. Z sections will be used for the giving
support to the second skin of the roof and for the
screw purpose.
13. Same procedure will be followed for other remaining roof liner
work.
 Wall Sheet

1. Barricade the area where work to be done before starting of

work. Provide proper lifeline for hook @5600 LBS capacity for
each person provide retractable life line individual.
2. Scaffolding / boom lift to be used.
3. Wall sheet to be shifted at specified location.
4. Rope pulley should be fixed on structure with the help web belt
of 1 meter.
5. Proper fixture securing the sheet during lifting need
3rd party certificate.
6. For lifting sheet need to be provide fabricated
structure/if using crane then proper lifting method
should be followed.
7. At the same time tag line will be attached to the sheet to stop
swing action.
8. During lifting sheet no person will work under suspended load
and lifting radius.
9. After sheet reaching at alignment height, out of two
persons in the boom lift, one person will be
removing the fixture / clamp and at the same time
second person will hold the sheet, after alignment is
done first person to screw the top of the sheet.

10. At the same time at the bottom of the sheet boom lift
to come to position, out of two-person one person
hold the sheet, after alignment of bottom sheet
another person to fix the screw if both people will
work man lift should be operate from ground.
11. After fixing top & bottom sheet in between screws to be fixed
using boom lift.
12. For the next sheet installation location of rope pulley
will be changed with respect to further sheet fixing.
13. Same procedure to repeat for the next wall sheet installation.

5.0 Review of Procedure

Engineer / Site In-charge to ensure that erected member is secured as per

above methodology.
SOP-Installation Roofing Sheet

Purpose
Step by step procedure for Installation of Roof Sheet
Scope
Installation of Roof sheet

Responsibility
Erector supervisor / Safety Officer/ REPL site engineer.

Required Tools and Tackles

1. Measuring tape.
2. Screw machine
3. Cutting machine
4. Sealant Gun
5. Hand Cutter
6. PP Rope
7. Plastic hammer
8. Knife
9. Cutting Pliers
10. Lifting equipment/ tools & tackles.

Procedures

1. Installation Plan & JSA approval to be taken from customer

2. Availability of GFC Drawings, BOQ and material.
3. Identify the material as per GFC installation drawing.
4. Shift the material from yard to required place.

Steps to be followed for roof sheet installation are-

1. First ensure that all framing work is completed as per drawing.

2. Ensure that alignment & plumb of the main frame is completed.
3. Ensure that purlins alignment & top level is maintained.
4. Ensure that safety net and life line has been fixed before start the
installation.
5. Ensure that the installation tools & machine are available at site in good
condition. Inspected and color coded.
6. Ensure that gutter is assembled as per the drawing and has
been installed in place [In case of valley gutter].
7. Now start lifting the sheet as per the given part mark over the
roof in proper manner either by crane or tie the nylon ropes
and slide over method. Sharp edges should be protected by
softener.
8. After lifting the sufficient quantity of sheet on the roof, tie them in bundles
with purlins.
9. Ensure that sheet installation work started from opposite direction of
prevailing wind.
10. At the time of installing the first sheet, place the female end of
the sheet towards gable end & male end towards installation
side.
11. Check the projection of sheet towards gutter side. (Sheet
projection should be 100 mm from eave purlins web)
12. Start screwing the clips on male end side by standing on
temporary platform formed as safe access, align the sheet line
then move forward to fix the clips from eave to ridge fully.
13. All Purlins needs to be locked with clips installation.
14. Place the female end of 2nd sheet over the installed male
profile and start fixing clips on second male sheet as mentioned
in previous steps.
15. On eave line screws needs to be installed as specified on the
drawing either over the purlin or over the valley gutter
flange after application of mastic tape on eave line. After
installation of two consecutive sheets, immediately locking
with wise grip.
16. After installation of two consecutive sheets, immediately
locking with wise grip pliers needs to be carried out to avoid
sheet lift due to wind.
17. Cycle repeats with continuation of sheet installation.
18. After crossing and aligning minimum 5 lines of sheet, seaming needs to be
commenced.
19. Plant team needs to supervise at the commencement of
roofing seaming to verify the machinery output and bend
quality as specified on SSR design and detailing.
20. Maintain minimum projection of 100 mm on ridge location
to have uniformity while installing ridge flashings.
21. Cycle repeats to complete the roof panel installation.
22. Clean the roof sheet at the end of every day & remove all unusable items
from roof.
