The point distribution has been designed considering the number of sub-events in a particular sport, due to which is
varies in some sports.
With respect to the amount of time and effort put in a particular event and keeping in mind that the point system
should be fair for all and not overpowered towards any department or any side, we have come up with the following
system.
We understand that it will look imbalanced at first look, however, we suggest you to be practical mindset towards
individual sports and understand the point system accordingly.
However, few events might still look more or less overpowered than the other, on which we suggest you to give your
best shot and extra efforts to push your department towards overall victory!
All points will be updated on Here!
SPORT TOTAL NO. OF EACH 1ST POSITION 2ND POSITION 3RD POSITION NOTES
POINTS SUB- EVENT
EVENTS TOTAL
Justification:
1) If number of sub-events was common for all or even approximately common, giving each event equal weightage
would have been justified.
2) The possibility of a department getting all three positions (i.e., first, second and third) exists in games like
Athletics, Badminton or TT but it is not possible for other games like Basketball, Cricket, Football, etc.
3) The other way out of this would’ve been to judge the winners by maximum average of points of the departments
of that event, example, badminton and position them as winners accordingly; which again won’t be fair for all.
Note: The following point distribution is for the overall event, which will be allotted to the departments that will be included in
the point system which will decide the overall winner (department).
In case of further clarifications, speak with the respective ECs and if the resolution is unsatisfactory, contact core committee.
