Motion Detectors

The document provides an introduction to motion detectors and linear motion by Pierre S. Lalaqui. It defines motion as changes in position and differentiates between distance and displacement. Speed is defined as distance over time while velocity is displacement over time. The lesson objectives are to plot and interpret motion graphs and create graphs of motion. Linear motion is explained as one dimensional motion in a straight line, with examples of vertical and horizontal translational motions.

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, you should be able
to:
a. Plot the measurement of motion;

b. Analyze and interpret motion graphs;

and

c. Create graphs of motion.

MOTION
Motion can be one dimensional or
two dimensional. A motion in one
dimension is called “LINEAR
MOTION”, and it means that a
body moves in a straight line.
MOTION
EXAMPLE: Translational Motion
-example of motion in one
dimension are the translational
motions or those moving in a
straight vertical line or horizontal
line.
