Introduction
Consuming healthy foods is one of the vital ingredients for achieving a healthy
and active body. When we say "healthy food," it doesn't mean that only
vegetables and fruits must be consumed, it also includes dairy products, fish,
meat, and others. Commonly, those are the two things that come to mind when
we hear that word. An individual cannot be determined healthy by just looking at
their weight or body but by how many nutrients they consume each day to boost
their immune system, which protects the body and fights against any harmful
diseases. As the group visited the barangay telaje, they learned that there are
many malnourished children in the community, which is why they implemented a
feeding program activity for all the malnourished children of the said barangay.

A feeding program is believed to be an effective strategy for addressing the

problem. It helps the individual gain weight and achieve a healthy and active
body. Moreover, the program focuses on improving the health of the children as
well as teaching their mothers how to choose the right food to consume. In
addition to that, the children will learn the importance of eating healthy food and
its impact on their bodies.

Background of the Program

Some of the objectives of the group is to provide proper care, spread the
knowledge they gained about the disadvantages of being unhealthy, increase the
awareness of individuals, and alleviate the problems of children that suffer from
malnutrition. The group believed that the body is the greatest asset and must be
given proper care by consuming the right food. Barangay Telaje is the perfect
place to perform the activity, as the group discovered that there are many
children who have been suffering from malnutrition. By providing nutritious food
and proper care, the group can help improve the health and well-being of
children's residing in barangay telaje.

Preparations of the Program

Before conducting the immersion, Familiarized yourself with the basic information
and theories regarding community life. Secure a waiver from the NSTP office
prior to the visit and have it signed by your parents. Also, always inform your
faculty in charge of your destination, time able and plan of action. Be armed with
background information about the area for immersion. Lastly, secure documents
like letter of acceptance from the community.

Observations on the Conduct of the Program

During the community immersion, the group discovered many things, such as:
(1)The hospitality of the childrens, parents and also the officials residing in
barangay telaje. The people there warmly welcomed them as they embark the
activity. Their appreciation to the groups effort and hardwork keep them stay
motivated throughout the activity.
(2) different cultures and belief - at the day of the activity, the group discovered
that all the participants were Muslims. The group quickly devise and provide
services to them that actually match their beliefs to avoid disrespecting others
including the right food to offer that is not detestable to them.

(3) willingness of the mother to learn about healthy lifestyle Although the
members were not professionally excellent in lecturing, the children's mother
was attentively listening to the discussion about spreading awareness on
disadvantage of being unhealthy. Despite the fact that the lecturers are still a
students, they respected and sees them like a teacher.
(4) Accommodative Barangay telaje is filled with many benevolent people
specially the officials. They help the group to finished the task smoothly and help
them settled the papers needed to embark and end the activity.

Problems Encountered
As the group conduct the feeding program activity they encounter many
problems and challenges along the way it includes;
 Choosing Foods - Choosing acceptable foods for a feeding program for
malnourished children is challenging for a number of reasons. Among
these are the nutritional needs of each child, which may vary depending
on their age, gender, and weight. Additionally, the children's food
preferences may also influence the success of the feeding program.
 Cooking - Ensuring that meals are appropriate for individuals with specific
dietary restrictions, such as allergies or religious requirements, is one of
their task. The problem is who will cook due to the lack of cooking skills of
some members, combined with the problem of being located far from the
city.
 Parents Participation - In feeding programs, parent participation can play
a crucial role in ensuring the success and sustainability of such initiatives.
However, many parents have busy schedules due to work or other
commitments, making it difficult for them to find time to actively
participate in the feeding program that the group conduct.

Skills, Abilities, and Academic Knowledge Gained

Through this work immersion, the group learned a lot of things that can be
applied and help them be prepared in their chosen field, including: Teamwork
and collaboration skills - this activity help them rely and trust on each others
capability which made the work much easier to do. Additionally, This immersion
really help them in improving their communication skills as it practices them on
how to communicate with others with confidence that helps vanish their fear and
turned into courage when lecturing in public. Also, Conducting a feeding program
requires careful planning and cost-effective resource management to maximize
the impact of the program. As a volunteer or organizer, the group learned how
to manage resources efficiently by minimizing waste, optimizing the use of
resources, and finding cost-effective solutions. This knowledge is directly related
to our BSBA Financial Management course as we will also learn about cost
management techniques, financial analysis, and decision-making strategies that
aim to maximize the value of the organization's resources.

Recommendation
Conducting a feeding program activity that involves teaching children the right
food to eat and spreading awareness about being unhealthy is believed to be an
effective strategy to alleviate the said problem among the children of barangay
telaje. Proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle are two of an individual’s basic
needs. Through feeding programs that provide meals with high nutritional value,
the beneficiaries in the long run will have become healthy and well-developed
individuals.
Oftentimes, the beneficiaries of feeding programs are children. Through these
programs, the group is supporting and easing the burden of their parents and

guardians. Most of the time, the beneficiaries belong to the underprivileged

sectors of the said community.
Eventually, the beneficiaries and the communities they belong to would end the
problem and alleviate it. Feeding programs empower them to have a healthy
lifestyle and give them proper nutrition to go on with their everyday lives and be
more responsible individuals, eventually helping them aspire to a brighter future.
Ultimately, the benefits of feeding programs go beyond providing nutritious
meals to children. It also entails creating an impact on their lives and
empowering them to have a better future. These programs are just small
guaranteed steps to empower these children and make them hopeful that even
though they are struggling now, their future is still in their hands.

Conclusion
The group recognized that good nutrition is fundamental for children's current
and future health, as well as their development and learning. The benefits of
developing this program from an early age onwards can positively impact on
people's nutrition and health throughout their adult lives, and enhance the
productivity of individuals. Feeding program is an important element in an overall
strategy aimed at improving food security and preventing all forms of
malnutrition. Good nutrition promotes not only better physical health and
reduced susceptibility to diseases but also has been demonstrated to contribute
to cognitive development and academic success. Left to their own devices,
children will not automatically select healthy foods.
Taking all this into account, as is being observed, children with low levels of
nutrients need to be prioritized. This program would definitely help those
children enhance their body development. The group wants to support
malnourished people, especially children. Furthermore, children also seek help in

terms of their nutrition. Therefore, the group concluded to help those in need so
we could live a perfect lifestyle.
