BCT Lecture5 6 Node Analysis

The document discusses circuit analysis techniques including Kirchhoff's Laws, Mesh Analysis, and Node Analysis. Mesh Analysis uses Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL) to write equations for loops in a circuit. Node Analysis uses Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) to write equations for the nodes. Examples are provided to demonstrate using both techniques to solve for unknown currents in circuits. Key steps include identifying meshes or nodes, writing the appropriate Kirchhoff equations, and solving the system of equations.

Node Analysis (Junction Analysis)

Based on Kirchhoff’s Current Law: analysis of

current at different nodes of a network
KIRCHHOFF’S CURRENT LAW (KCL)
 Kirchhoff’s Current Law states that the algebraic summation of
current entering a junction (node) of a network is equal to the
summation of currents leaving a junction (node)
 Alternatively, it states that the summation of currents meeting at a
Junction is zero

 KCL equation at Node A is given as:

Total current
Total current leaving
entering the junction
