A. Elicit
Let the pupils to sing the song “Bahay Kubo.”
Ask the pupils what things are found in the bahay kubo. Show a picture of a
bahay kubo and ask the pupils what are the things they see in the picture.

B. Engage LANDFORM SNACK: MOUNTAIN RANGES


Instructions:
Use a graham cracker, sprinkles, krim sticks and Hershey’s kisses to create this
  mountain range.

TREASURE HUNT
Using the map and clues provided, help our friend “Philip” reach the
treasure.

Trivia: Students did you know that “The name Philippines comes from
Philip II who was the king of Spain during the 16th century when the
country became a Spanish colony. The Philippines was granted to the United
States in 1898 following the Spanish-American War.”

Instruction: Follow the trail to find the envelopes that contains clues’ pictures
and match the pictures to the corresponding shapes to unlock the treasure.

Envelope 1: A clue is hidden under one of the arm chairs. Check your arm
chairs.
Envelope 2: A clue is hidden underneath the sink of Girl’s C.R.
Envelope 3: A clue is hidden under the teacher’s table.
 C. Explore Envelope 4: A clue is hidden under the blackboard.

The treasure contains a Volcano model that will be used for the volcanic
eruption experiment.

EXPERIMENT TIME!
In the opening of the volcano (vent):
1) Add baking soda.
2) Mix dish soap, and red food color.
3) Add vinegar.

- What did you observe in the simulation?


- What do you think is the effect of the volcanic eruption on its
surroundings?

D. Explain 
Directions: Draw and describe landforms that you can see in the community.
And share ideas on how to take care of this landforms.

Instructions: Pupils will group into 3, and each group will choose a
representative to present their work.

MOUNTAIN (Bundok) – is a landform that rises above the surrounding land


and steeper than a hill.
MOUNTAIN RANGES (Bulubundukin) – is a chain of mountains or hills
close together and acts as natural barriers against typhoons.
VOLCANO (Bulkan) – a landform where molten rock erupts through the
surface of the planet.
PLAIN (Kapatagan) – large areas of land that are mostly flat.
HILL (Burol) – a landform that is higher than the surrounding land and has a
visible summit, they are mostly like mountains but is generally less tall and less
steep.
PLATEAU (Talampas) – a flat stretch of land on top of a mountain
VALLEY (Lambak) – flat stretch of landmass in between two mountains.
