Good job class. Congratulations to group

team BTS they got many correct answers.
For the other group, still congratulations to
you and there are more following activities
don’t worry. So now, based on our previous
activity,

I hope that you gain some idea about our

topic.

So the words that you arranged has in

connection to the lesson that we are going
to discuss today.
Presentation of the lesson:

In your past lessons you have learned how to

validate and judge information from the
various reading sources. And on how to
discern validity of information.

Because nowadays, judging of information

can be very difficult.

The amount of information are doubled. Also,

because of the advancement of technologies
making it easy to make fake news.

That’s why in your previous lesson we

discussed the following things you need to
consider to know if the information you’ve
read and listen is valid.

Of-course, you need to consider the author.

What are his or her qualifications? How did
the source get its information? If the source
includes references.
So remember, when a source is “clear,
effective and truthful on the information it
presents” we say that it has validity.
Now that you have already know how to
validate information in listened and reading a. differentiate the three strategies of viewing;
sources. b. understand the message conveyed in the
material viewed;
Apply it to your next lesson because you are c.determine the relevance and truthfulness of the
going to determine the relevance and ideas presented in the material viewed; and

But before that I have here our objectives for

today. Who will volunteer to read?

Discussion/Lesson Proper

So before that, I prepared in here of different

pictures.
What are these pictures?

Ma’am TV shows like documentaries, movies and

Okay! Very good. What else? advertisements.

Ma’am news are also included.

Good jod class!
These are some images that we can see and
view around us.
We can view this in the different technology
such as digital in the radio, TV and also in the
internet.

But sometimes um we don't need those digital

or technological things for us to view.
Sometimes announcement, ads and posters
can be also viewed posted around the
street,
in buildings and any bulletin boards.

But as a viewer, Do you think you must easily

believe with those images or moving
pictures that you see? Are you not going to
determine it first if it is true, appropriate and
relevant? Or do I need this?

do i need this is it appropriate for me

Okay! those are the questions that we need
um
to remember whenever we view things.
Right?
Ma’am because they can help you in one way or

of technologies making it easy to make fake another. For instance, relevance can help you

so we must be wise and critical thinkers in
order
to balance those information that we receive
and review.
Okay! so remember class that um we must

the materials that we view. Always check for

materials.

When we say multi-modal document.

Anyone would like to read?

Yes? Cassandra.
Alright, Thank you!

So this multimodal document has two types

the digital multimodal text and the live
multimodal text.

The first one digital model text. From the

word digital, so with the use of electronic
technologies. For example: movies,
pictures, slide shows, websites, films and
apps.

Multi-modal texts combine two or more

modes such as written language, spoken

So now let us define viewing. Because we

always mentioned it that we can information
by viewing.

Who would like to read the definition?

Viewing is one of the fifth skill that we need to

be competent. Because we have five right?
Reading, listening, writing, speaking and
viewing.

Viewing is also defined that it conveys

Ma’am we commonly questioned the decision of
the actors on what they are planning to do.

Now viewing has parts so the steps in order Ma’am, we tend to guess or
for us to complete the view between process. predict on what is the possible
We have PRE-VIEWING, DURING VIEWING situation that will happen next.
and AFTER VIEWING.

Yes ma’am.
So when we say previewing you prepare
yourself to view in here you are activating
your schema so when you say schema. Your
prior knowledge or the things that you already
know it could be based from the scales or
knowledge that you have before or
experiences

For example a these movies. Even though

We didn't watch it yet, you are speculating.
You are also asking questions that this story
is about love it's a story about family is it
about adventure.
During viewing is simply the part wherein you
need to understand the content. Imagine
when we are watching, reading a text, looking
a picture.

What are we commonly do during these

situations?

Yes. Most especially when we are already in

the exciting part. What else?

Very good. We always predict what will

happen most especially when we are
watching and we are already in the climax
part wherein every situation or part are
exciting.

Last stage of viewing is After Viewing. Class,

in this level, what you should you do to have
an effective comprehension
of what you watch?

After viewing simply, means that you need to

respond from the content of what you watch.
Responding means making reflections,
analyzing the story or text, evaluating or
writing what you have learned.

Class, do you apply these strategies when

viewing?

Okay. We are done discussing the three

strategies of viewing.

Now, the question is how to determine if the

ideas you have viewed are relevant and
truthful? Remember, fake news is
everywhere.

Exactly Relevant information is very

important.

When we say relevance.

Relevance is the quality or state of being

closely connected or appropriate. Some
thing’s relevance to a situation or person is its
importance or significance in that situation or
to that person.

On the other hand, truthfulness is conformity

with fact or reality. It denotes complete
sincerity and accuracy in all details. Here are
some ways to determine if a
statement is truthful:
1. Develop a critical mindset.
2. Check the source.
3. See who else is reporting the story.
4. Examine the evidence.
5. Examine the images.

Application Activity
