I. Rationale

Scouting is referred to the activities of various national and worldwide organizations for
youth directed to developing character, citizenship, and individual skills.

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) with its mission and vision of developing our
girls and young women who are well rounded and acquired the ideas of womanhood,
preparing them to their responsibilities at home and the nation and consistently aligned
with the mission of the department of education nurturing every child to their fullest
potential.

Engaging in scouting activities allows all scouts of the different schools and
institutions to develop practical techniques on survival, teach how to work as a group,
develop the essence of managing both failure and success, develop social skills and good
camaraderie with other scouts, teach how to respect others and improve self-image and
self-confidence, and apply the good values stipulated in both Scout Law and Scout Oath
in real life situation.

The conduct of School-based GSP Camporal plays a vital role to every scout of the
different schools in enhancing their physical, social, and mental capacity as an
individual. It is considered an integral part of the learning process. It helps them in
character building and provides them the opportunity to develop their critical thinking
and awaken their inert strength and become energized.

GSP prime movers are always looking forward to seeing to it that all learners should
always be motivated to participate in learning activities whatever their economic status
and race.

Finally, the whole school believes that active participation in school activities such as
scouting eliminates the mental exhaustion from studying lessons and physical tardiness
of school children.

II. Objectives

1. Develop practical techniques for survival.


2. Teach how to work as a group.
3. Develop the essence of managing both failure and success.
4. Develop social skills and good camaraderie with other scouts.
5. Teach how to respect others and improve self-image and self-confidence.
6. Apply the good values stipulated in Scout Law and Scout Oath in real-life
situations.

III. Program Description

The activity shall be an avenue in developing the essence of leadership and


camaraderie among scouts. This will teach how to respect others and improve
individual self-image and self-confidence. This initiative will give an opportunity to
school children to experience once in a lifetime scouting activity.

This will be participated by all aspiring scouts from Grade 3 – Grade 6 of


Lumaping Elementary School, with the proper guidance of their respective advisers
and teaching staff on October 7-8, 2023 at Lumaping Elementary School Grounds,
Lumaping, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte.
