LC: A4EL-IIa- Give an idea about shapes


I.LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the given period,the Grade 4 pupils shall have:
1. identified the basic shapes through video presentation;
2. draw an object that found on the surroundings through basic shapes; and
3. relate the importance of shapes in real life through realistic objects on the
surroundings.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Basic shapes
Reference: Art curriculum guide-pp.130-131
Materials:Cardboardshapes,video,PowerPoint,projector, visual aid,
bondpaper,crayons,pictures
Values: Appreciation
III. PROCEDURE
A.Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Classroom Management
4. Checking attendance
5.Drill
Students will stand up and shake their hands from side,up and down. ( Repeat the
process twice)
6.Review
What was our last discussion?
What are the primary colors?
B.Lesson Proper
1.Activity Proper “Bring me”
 The teacher will put a cardboard in areas in the classroom.Then let the
students will find it through a game “bring me”.The person who found the
requested item will receive rewards.

4.Analysis
Ask the students from the following questions.
1. What you have observed from the given materials?
2. What elements of art do you see in the materials?
3. Do you have any idea what our lesson today?

4. Abstraction
The teacher will present vedio song about shapes.
Ask support questions regarding the video song.
 Did you enjoy the video song class?
 What did you observed our video presentation?
The teacher will present the topic through PowerPoint presentation.

SHAPES
Shapes can define as the quality of a distinct object or body in having external surface
of specific form or figure.

These are the basic shapes:


1. Square
It has 4 sides and 4 vertices.
Its sides are equal in length.
2. Triangle
A triangle is a polygon which has three sides and three angles.
3. Rectangle
A rectangle is a flat and closed shape.
A rectangle has 4 sides, 4 angles, and 4 corners.
A rectangle has 2 dimensions, that are length and width.
4. Oval
An oval shape is a 2D shape, similar to an egg, that has no straight lines and vertices.
The oval shape has one flat face, which does no self-intersect at any point. Another way
to describe an oval shape is by saying that it is similar to a smooshed circle, a circle that
is elongated in a way.
5. Circle
A circle is a round-shaped figure that has no corners or edges.
6. Rhombus
Rhombus is a quadrilateral with all equal sides. Since opposite sides of a parallelogram
are equal so, rhombus is a special type of a parallelogram whose all sides are equal.

These are the object that we found on the surroundings through basic shapes.

Shapes has applications in everyday life, like in thinking about home projects, and in
various careers, like architecture.Shape can help to create complex drawings and
paintings, affect composition, and contribute to the balance within a work.Helps us to
identify and organize visual information.

Valuing:
•Is shapes important in real life?
• what happened if without shapes?
5. Application
•The class will be divided into 5 groups
• The teacher will provide bondpaper and crayons
•Each group will draw object that is found on the surroundings that has a basic form of
shapes
•Put some colors of your artwork and after that the teacher will choose one
representative to present their work
•The pupils will be given 25 minutes to finish the activity Rubrics:

IV. Evaluation
The teacher will provide worksheet for test I and test II.
