Learning Activities: Starter Activity: 2mins- Checking Prior Knowledge: - The teacher will begin the session by showing learners a computer and eliciting their prior knowledge about every part of a computer through questioning. Cross-Curricular Link: Science: Human Brain English: Creative Writing Exposition: 5min Consolidate their understanding by telling them in detail about every part of the computer. Introduce computer and the term ‘PC’. Discuss how the computer works and help us in many fields. Discuss the importance of computers in daily life by examples. Discuss the various tasks performed by different parts of a computer. Use the proper terminologies; input and output devices while introducing various parts of the computer. Practice Task: (Pair Work) 36 mins Ask learners to practice the skills taught about the mouse, left/right clicks, various keys on the keyboard by typing a paragraph. (Any Topic) Discuss the keyboard with emphasis on the keys and their placement on the keyboard. Production Task: (Individual Work) 15mins Distribute ‘Missing Keys’ handout to every learner to identify the missing keys. Explain to them how to fill in the given handout. Plenary: 5mins What is CPU? Why do we need CPU? What is monitor? Can we work without a monitor? Why do we use keyboard? What is the main function of Mouse? How many buttons are there?
