Solid Waste Management Practices

This portfolio task is in line with AFFECTIVE DOMAIN involving CWTS student’s feelings,
emotions, and attitudes toward the conduct of the activity. This domain includes the manner in which
he/she deals with things emotionally, such as feelings, values, appreciation, enthusiasm, motivation and
attitudes.
SDG INTEGRATION: SDG # 13 – Climate Action (Take urgent action to combat climate change
and its impacts - in line with the United Nations Frameworks Convention on Climate Change) and
SDG # 14 – Life Below Water (Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine
resources for sustainable development)
What I have done…

What I have done in this social activity was that I encourage not only myseld but my family and my members in
our barangay to practice proper solid waste management. I also invited the children in our area to help me
design a 4 trash bins out of sacks. After that I teach them what types of garbages are to throw to those 4 types
of receptacles. They understand and practice by themselves the proper segregation of garbages, afterwards. I
also visited our barangay hall to ask how they implement the practices of Solid Waste Management. I'm glad
that they also advice me how to properly segregate our trashes at home so that our garbage are ready for pick
up by the garbage collector on their scheduled time. I'm also glad that I was introduced in this kind of activities
because a side that I work myself instead of always seating and doing other school paper works. I get a chance
to move my limbs and do some interesting and productive activities like this.

What I want to accomplish more…

Just like my previous thoughts, I want to accomplish activities that will greatly help my barangay develop.
Another, is to contribute for the happiness and peaceful living of my kabarangay.

Draw a SYMBOL (an object which symbolizes something) to represent your CWTS
experience. And put a very short explanation.

Proper waste management will make a

bright future for your barangay. It resolves many

problems such as health issues and avoid disasters

such as flooding.
