Objectives of the Field Immersion

Field immersion in NSTP-CWTS (National Service Training Program - Civic Welfare

Training Service) for students encompasses several objectives that aim to enhance their

learning and civic engagement. The objectives of field immersion in NSTP-CWTS for

students are as follows:

1. It promotes the development of civic responsibility and active citizenship among

students.

2. It aims to foster active participation and engagement with the local community.

3. It emphasizes the value of collaboration and teamwork.

4. It enhances students' awareness of social issues and encourages them to become

5. It provides students with opportunities for reflection and evaluation of their experiences.

Background of the Venue/s of Field Immersion

The NSTP-CWTS (National Service Training Program - Civic Welfare Training Service)

executed a Field Immersion where the students conducted a community service every

Saturday. It helps them to gain practical experience and develop a deeper understanding of

societal issues. Our Block is assigned in different areas in Daet, Camarines Norte including

the Barangay Gahonon, Barangay 2 and also inside the campus of Camarines Norte State

College Main Campus.

We conducted a Cleaning Campaign to maintain the cleanliness of the Barangays like

street sweeping, mowing the grass and also segregating wastes to promote proper waste

disposal. In our school, we help to pull out and mop weeds, collect rocks and put them in the

right place to recycle. Also, our group submitted a project that promotes environmental

sustainability such as crops for tree planting, solar street lights and trash bins to Barangay

Hall of Barangay 2 Daet, Camarines Norte.

developing the ethics of service and patriotism. During our training service, we encountered

various issues and challenges such as Lack of Improvisation, where people in the barangay

has no initiatives to start something for the betterment of their community. Some of the

barangay officials do not show consideration. Moreover, the trash is still piled-up in the place

we already cleaned.

We also faced some people who became disrespectful toward us even though we are

doing them a favor for them. I know that as a student we should only focus on our goal as

wind guides and the community, but still, we need their partnerships and initiatives to make

their barangay clean and maintain the areas neat. Understanding the importance of

environmental cleanliness and upholding proper hygiene (for one's own health) is the same

as being concerned about the efficient use of environmental resources. The advantages

obtained from the curriculum nurture the students' readiness for civic engagement on a

broad scale. Values formation places a strong emphasis on adopting contemporary Filipino

values and understanding the 4Ms of a good citizen.

Reflection/Realization about NSTP Subject undertaken

Program (NSTP). As I reflect upon my field immersion, I am filled with gratitude for the

opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals and communities.

Community cleaning initiatives specifically heightened my awareness of

environmental issues. As we cleaned various Barangay and inside the school, I understood

the significance of proper waste management, collecting litter and sorted recyclables. I

gained a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness between our actions and the

environment. This experience instilled in me a commitment to promoting environmental

stewardship and making conscious choices in my daily life. It made me more mindful of my

actions, motivated me to make sustainable choices, and inspired me to advocate for better

waste management practices in my community.

One more realization is that improper waste disposal has severe environmental

consequences. Inadequate waste disposal can pose significant health risks to both humans

and animals. By actively engaging in proper waste disposal methods, we can contribute to a

cleaner and healthier future for generations to come.

Engaging in volunteerism and community service through my experiences in CWTS

has been a transformative journey, providing valuable lessons and personal growth. I have

learned the importance of hard work and the profound impact an individual can have on their

community. Participating in community clean-up initiatives has shown me the significance of

small acts of kindness in improving our surroundings.

Volunteering for clean-ups has reinforced my belief in our shared responsibility to

make the world a better place. Each action, whether picking up litter or helping clean,

contributes to creating a cleaner and healthier community. Witnessing the visible

transformation of previously neglected areas has been inspiring, reminding me of the

positive impact our actions can have on the environment and the people living there.

Engaging in community service has also emphasized the power of teamwork and

collaboration. Working alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds with a common

purpose has taught me the value of collective action. Collaborating with fellow volunteers

has allowed us to combine our skills, resources, and perspectives to find innovative solutions

to community challenges. Appreciating the strengths of others and embracing collective

wisdom has fostered unity and a sense of shared accomplishment.

Participating in volunteerism and community service has facilitated personal growth

and self-discovery. Stepping out of my comfort zone and engaging in hands-on activities has

broadened my interests and developed new skills. These experiences have taught me to

overcome obstacles, challenge my limitations, and cultivate resilience. Cleaning the

community has not only improved the environment but has also provided an opportunity for

introspection and self-improvement.

These experiences have highlighted the interconnectedness of our lives and the

importance of collective action in addressing societal challenges. I have realized that each

individual plays a role in building strong and vibrant communities. Volunteerism and

community service have inspired me to actively contribute to shaping a better world, fueling

my hope for positive change in our community.

As a student of NSTP-CWTS I was unprepared for the challenges and issues were

about to encounter before the Training Service. I became hesitant at first because I could

not handle the heat of the sun, it makes me dizzy or worse nosebleed, but good thing that

didn't happen. This Training Service benefited me as it gives me/us awareness about the

importance of being aware and involved to the community's development. I've learned the

value of tiny acts of kindness in enhancing our environment through my involvement in

community clean-up projects.

Although, cleaning is what we can do, I believed that it was also important as we

need to have more time engaging ourselves for the betterment of our society and to always

have a sense of well-being. Even though I could not fulfill my duty as a student of NSTP I

know that i helped a lot during the immersion. Facing the risk of community immersion,

student and implementers is most appreciated.

The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) is a program designed to develop the

youth’s physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being and promote defense

preparedness and ethics of service while undergoing training in any of its three program

components. Its various components are specially designed to enhance the youth’s active

contribution to the general welfare.

As a student, the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)helps me appreciate the

environment and promote the beauty of our nature. The experience in this program is difficult

and tiring, but you will realize a lot about yourself and that we have a role as individuals to

keep the environment clean and do our duty as students to keep the environment clean and

maintain the beauty of the environment.

I can feel that this program will truly help in enhancing my skills and developing my

potential as a student. The program was established to train and realize all youth prepared

to serve the country in times of disaster or calamity, but the one who will benefit the most in

The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component of the National Service

Training Program (NSTP) has been a significant journey in my college life. It has taught me

the significance of civic engagement, community service and social responsibility. Among

the various activities I engaged in during my CWTS experience, general cleaning stands out

as a powerful and impactful endeavor. Despite being a physically demanding and exhausting

activity, engaging in the activities of CWTS provided us an opportunity to develop essential

teamwork skills that are applicable in various aspects of life.

The community service we’ve done in various Barangay and also inside the school

every Saturday, fostered teamwork and collaboration among the participants. We worked

together with fellow students, community members, and local organizations to tackle

cleaning tasks effectively. Through coordinated efforts, we learned the value of shared

responsibility, effective communication, and cooperation. Furthermore, participating in

general cleaning initiatives heightened my environmental awareness and fostered a

commitment to sustainability. Through our cleaning activities, we realized the impact of

littering and improper waste disposal on the environment. This experience inspired me to

adopt eco-friendly practices in my daily life and advocate for environmental conservation.

Lastly, engaging in these various activities prompted reflection and gratitude. As we

witnessed the transformation of the assigned place to us and the impact of our efforts, we

realized the privilege we had in being able to contribute to the well-being of the community.

The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) is one of three components of the

National Service Training Program, a civic education and defense preparedness program for

higher and vocational education students in the Philippines.

NSTP inspired me as a student to get involved in our community as part of its goal.

This involvement might take a variety of shapes, from offering direct services to promoting

arts education in nearby schools. Through a variety of activities, it seeks to develop abilities,

particularly for crises, catastrophes, and tragedies. Individually, in pairs, or in groups, this is

sometimes carried out. In contrast to how NSTP-CWTS trains its students, CWTS students

respond to the demands of the local community and young people as innovators of social

change. It taught me how to become a responsible citizen or student and to be an equipped

person who can be able to help others in times of needs and such circumstances. During the

immersion, I've learned the importance of being a volunteer and how it positively affects our

lives in general. Committed to engaging in community service that advances attitudes,

motivation, and commitment to make thoughtful decisions and undertake responsible

actions, as well as increases students' knowledge and awareness of the environment and

related challenges.

We conducted in community immersion in every purok's and barangay's every

Saturday, we have a responsibility to give back to the neighborhood where we live as NSTP

CWTS students. This helps us build stronger relationships with one another and develops

our environmental stewardship skills. By serving others, we may improve our problem-

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) is a useful course that fosters civic

awareness and motivates students to take an active role in community improvement. I now

have a better grasp of the value of service and how it affects society thanks to my

participation in the NSTP subject.

The focus on community interaction and immersion is one of the main features of

NSTP. I've had the chance to engage with a variety of people and communities through a

variety of activities like volunteering, outreach initiatives, and community service. Through

this experience, I was able to see firsthand the difficulties and realities that other social

groups must contend with, which helped me to develop empathy and a deeper

understanding of other people's needs.

Overall, the NSTP course has played an important role in my academic career. It has

molded my character, widened my horizons, and given me a sense of responsibility for my

neighborhood and country. My future actions and decisions will surely be influenced by the

knowledge and experiences I obtained through the NSTP as I work to become a more

involved and responsible citizen.

the field of community service. I have never given myself much in community service. This

shows that there is a lack of awareness about community service among people especially
