5.1 General Parameters

Length of the Shed = 30.90 m

Width of the Shed = 30.95 m
Height of the Shed = 10.00 m

Dead Load:-

Purlin Self Weight = 0.10 kN/m2

Load on Typical Frame = 0.10 x 7.5
= 0.75 kN/m
Load on Gable Frame = 0.10 x (7.5/2)
= 0.375 kN/m
Dust Load = 0.50 kN/m2
Load on Typical Frame = 0.50 x 7.5
= 3.75 kN/m
Load on Gable Frame = 0.50 x (7.5/2)
= 1.875 kN/m
Brick Wall Load = 0.23 x 1.95 x 22
= 9.867 kN/m

19
Live Load (As per IS 875 for roof Live Load):-

Live Load = 0.75 kN/m2

Load on Typical Frame = 0.75 x 7.5
= 5.625 kN/m
Load on Gable Frame = 0.75 x (7.5/2)
= 2.8125 kN/m

5.2 Earthquake Loading Considerations:

Zone : III i.e. Z = 0.16

Importance factor I = 1.00
Response Reduction Factor R (For SMRF) = 5.00

Time period calculation:

For Steel MRF Building T = 0.085 x h0.75
h = top of roof level to top of foundation = 10 + 3.90
= 13.90 m
T = 0.085 x 13.90.75
= 0.611sec.
Sa/g = 1.36/T
= 2.225
Design Horizontal Seismic Coefficient (IS 1893 Part -1 2016 cl.6.4.2)
Ah = ( Z/2)(Sa/g)(I/R)
= (0.16/2) x (2.225) x (1.0/5)

0.25 * y^2 -
Σ Ay = 634.545 + 0.09
634.455 + 0.25 * y^2
ΣA = 32.866 + 0.5 * (y-0.6)
32.566 + 0.8 * y

That is 32.566*y + 0.5 y^2 = 634.455 + 0.25 * y^2

0.25 * y^2 + 32.566*y - 634.455 =0

y = Σ Ay /Σ A = 17.209 cm
