Conceptual Framework

The document discusses the concept of a conceptual framework, which serves as a fundamental concept that guides research, economics, accounting, and other fields. A conceptual framework represents the relationships between variables and concepts, and helps organize data and develop hypotheses. It differs from a theoretical framework by mapping variables rather than being based on original research. The steps to develop a conceptual framework include choosing a topic and research question, reviewing literature, identifying variables, determining relationships between variables, and creating a diagram or written framework.

Topic: The Conceptual Framework

Introduction

The Conceptual Framework is a fundamental concept in various field of the

study, including research, economics, and accounting. It serves as a pillar that guide
and helps the researchers and practitioners in understanding, organizing and
interpreting complicated ideas and phenomena.

In the context of Economics, the Conceptual Framework is used to model and

understand the economic condition and phenomena. This may include theories and
models that help the economists analyze and predict economic behavior. For
instance, the supply and demand framework is a fundamental concept in economics
used to explain how prices are determined in markets.

Meanwhile in accounting the Conceptual Framework helps in ensuring

consistency and transparency in financial statements. In the context of business
management, the Conceptual framework is what they consider a crucial important
tool in formulating a strategic actions. It helps the organizations to develop a
structured decision–making.

Moreover, the Conceptual Framework in the context of Education, serves as a

roadmap for the enhancement and adjustment of the curriculum and teaching
practices, that will ensure a better support system for students a academic success.
Whether you’re a researcher, accountant, economist, business strategist, or
educator, a conceptual framework can help you navigate and make sense of the
complexities within your respective field.

In research, the Conceptual Framework guides the study between the link of
several variables, concepts and theories that are relevant to the researchers study. It
helps researchers to conceptualize how different elements or variables are
connected and how they influence each other. Hence, these report aims to
apprehend the definition of the Conceptual Framework, it’s purpose towards the
study and what are the variables and it’s roles towards the framework. Additionally,
we will going to scrutiny the steps and processes in developing a conceptual
framework.
Discussion

A. What is a Conceptual Framework?

The Conceptual Framework is a representation of the relationship you

expect to see between your variables, or the characteristics or properties that you
want to study. Depending on what the authors preference, the conceptual framework
can be in a form of written and visual representation.

B. What is the Purpose of Conceptual Framework in Research?

1. To map out the relationships between concepts in order to better

understand them.
2. To provide a structure for organizing and understanding data.
3. To develop hypotheses or testable research questions.
4. To help communicate research results

C. What is the difference between Theoretical Framework and Conceptual

Framework?

A theoretical framework provides the theoretical underpinnings of your work

based on current original research. However, a conceptual framework allows you
to develop your findings by mapping out the variables you may utilize in your study
and how they interact.
D. What are the steps/processes of developing a Conceptual Framework?

1. Choose your topic — This will help you focus on the most important
concepts and relationships.

2. Make your research question — An important part of your conceptual

framework and research is the development of a question that will
guide your investigation. As a result, you will not get lost while writing
the paper.

3. Conduct a review of the literature – A review of literature is a

process in which a researcher examines previously published work on
a particular subject from reputable sources.

4. Choose your variables — identify and pinpoint the variable that has
been discussed in the literature you have studied. The variables can be
classified into three: independent variables, these are the variables
that you believe will have an effect on the dependent variable;
Dependent variables, these are the variables that you believe will be
affected by the independent variable; and Control variables, these are
variables that you believe could potentially affect the dependent
variable, but that you are not manipulating or testing.

5. Choose your relationships – Now that you have chosen your

variables, you have to decide how these variables are related to one
another.

6. Create the conceptual framework – Now that you have achieved all
the previous steps, the final step is to illustrate the diagram (in some
cases the author uses a written form of Conceptual Framework).
Conclusion

Therefore, the Conceptual framework is plays a crucial role within the

research. As it serves to provide a deductive assumptions towards the interplays
between the variables; which can be classified into, Independent, Dependent, and
Control variables — which is necessary in formulating the framework.

Furthermore, the conceptual framework helps in organizing and

understanding the data in the study and it allows the researchers to develop
hypotheses or testable research questions that will serve as a roadmap towards your
research success.

Moreover, developing or formulating a conceptual framework follows a

necessary steps and processes such as ; Choosing your topic, Making your research
questions, conduct a review of the literature, choosing your variables, choosing or
determining the relationship between the variables you've studied, and finally,
creating a conceptual framework that can be through either written of words and
visual presentation such as charts and diagrams.
