The COVID-19 pandemic has caused disruptions in the different industries nationwide.
The effects of the pandemic have been unprecedented and have gone so far. In the context of

operation of schools including relevant offices in the division, region and central levels is has
been suspended and systemized. The implementation of the work immersion of the Senior High
School students is also affected in this case. However, learning shall not stop during this crisis
situations, and that learners shall still have the chance to be immersed in a learning environment
where different learning modalities shall be employed in order to meet the standard
competencies set by the Department of Education.

This subject is designed to provide students opportunity to integrate their learning in the
different areas of humanities and social sciences through a creative culminating activity. It
focuses on the exhibition/exhibits of authentic products and performances as evidence of their
learning in the humanities and social sciences. In consideration of the current limitations, the
following maybe undertaken by the Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students:

1. Since the subject’s performance standard in this course is to produce a creative

humanities and social sciences, the students will be asked to:
a. create a plan to make their portfolio including its timeline, processes involved,
and its key concepts;

b. write a concept paper that will encapsulate their learning in humanities and
social sciences;

ACTIVITY 3 | Situational Analysis

CONFIDENTIALITY IN THE WORKPLACE

Supposed you are in a workplace and confidential matters on company operations were disclosed to
you in a meeting. One time, you had a conversation with your friend who is in different workplace, and he
begged you to relay to him the sensitive information discussed in your meeting for his promotion. How would
you deal with the situation?

I would explain to my friend that it is against corporate policy an unethical for me to discuss personal
information. I would stress how crucial it is to uphold my employer’s confidence and respect confidentiality.
It my friend continues to insist, I would kindly decline once more and recommend looking for alternative
ways to help him advance that don’t require confidential information

ECHOES and PONDER

ACTIVITY 4 | Conflict Resolution

Did you ever experience disagreement and conflict with co-workers? How did you handle the
situation? How would you rate your skills in handling differences of opinion? Please give an example that
illustrates that skill.

Yes, if the same conflict repeatedly arises in the workplace, I take steps to resolve the matter in an
effective way. For me, the best way to deal with such a situation is to identify the exact point of contention
and calmly discuss possible resolution. Disagreement and conflicts are part of any workplace environment.
In such situations, I prioritize open communication and active listening to understand others perspective. I
rate my skills in handling differences of opinion as proficient. One example on how I handle such a situation
is when a colleague and I had differing approaches to a project deadline. Instead of escalating tensions I
scheduled a one on one meeting to discuss our viewpoint, actively listened to their concerns, and proposed a
compromise that satisfied both parties while still meeting the projects objectives. This approach fostered
collaboration and maintained a positive working relationship

Work immersion rules and regulations ensure work immersion students’ success and safety in
the entire duration of the work immersion program, if set and followed properly. Generally, the rules
and regulations are linked to the practice or observation of work ethics and confidentiality. Basically,
work ethics refer to the standards of duty and virtue that indicate how we should behave in the
workplace or in our cooperating company which include the following components: attendance,
character, teamwork, appearance, attitude, productivity, organizational skills, communication,
cooperation, and respect. while based on Deped Order No. 30 s. 2017, to observe confidentiality in the
workplace, students shall understand that all information on technology, manufacturing process,
process standards, quality assurance methodologies, quality standards, production capabilities, raw
materials, and operational and technical matters that the partner agencies shall make available to the
learners must be classified as confidential and students shall prevent the transfer of such information
by any of its members outside the organization. However, due to the current global pandemic, the
actual work immersion with partner agencies cannot be realized. Thus, as an alternative, work
immersion will be done virtually through the conduct of culminating activity where the ethics and
