MANAGEDIA

“THE OCTET IGNITE INFINITE”

The world around us right now is at the threshold of an era where imagination is the new
fuel that is driving the youth. It serves as the cornerstone for shaping a future, where ideas
are transformed into actions. We are at a juncture where our imaginations are making us
progress towards a ‘Futuristic Utopia’ i.e. a place with ideal conditions and near perfect
qualities. At the foundation of this ‘Futuristic Utopia’ of ours are eight pillars-‘The Octet’.
The Octet consists of eight values or ethos that are at the core of the Managedia universe
and its operations. They comprise of “Sustainability”, “Leadership”, “Entrepreneurship”,
“Innovation”, “Invention”, “Originality”, “Inclusivity” and “Empathy”. Together, these eight
pillars form the foundation of a future world where imagination knows no bounds, where
the impossible becomes achievable, and where the human spirit soars to new heights.
These eight values together can harness the power of creativity and technology to solve
the most pressing challenges faced by humanity.
In this world guided by ‘The Octet’, the possibilities are infinite. And hence, this year, we
bring to you “Managedia 2024: The Octet - Ignite Infinite”, from April 16th to 20th, where
we transverse the Managedia universe orbiting around ‘The Octet’.
This Managedia 2024, we invite you to embark on a journey seeking for more, striving for
perfection and breaking barriers of time, range and possibilities.

In a zero waste process, the idea of transformation and change in design creation
methods is taken into consideration, resulting in zero or very little residual
products at the end of manufacturing.
We envision this idea carrying the change that the world so desperately needs in
light of the current situation as we progress towards a more mindful future
“Less is more” – This is what we believe in since fashion styling is all about mixing
and matching different garments and looks to bring out the best.
GARMENT OUT OF WASTE
18th April 2024

DESIGN BRIEF FOR THE COMPETITION

Reimagining design aesthetics by using your creativity to improve the garment’s
lifecycle. Participants would be given a rectangular piece of cloth and they would
have to drape it.
The concept of this round is Zero Waste, i.e., creating a garment using only one
pattern piece without any wastage of fabric. The participants can snip the fabric
for shaping.
The innovative exploration with the fabric will be scrutinized and the
implementation of the unconventional ideas to achieve a visually appealing look
will be reviewed.
Styling celebrates the beauty within by identifying the most flattering
silhouettes, color and makeup which is put together to make an aesthetically
pleasing ensemble.
