TIẾNG ANH 6 FRIENDS PLUS
UNIT 8: GOING AWAY - LESSON 4: VOCABULARY AND LISTENING

I. AIMS:
1. Language contents:
- Vocabulary: icy, cloudy, foggy, snowy, stormy, rainy, hot, cold, stormy, windy.

2. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, my students can ask and answer about the weather.
3. Skills:
- Main skills : listening
- Sub skills : speaking
4. Attitude: love the weather in Viet Nam and be aware of protecting the environment.
5. Competences:
- Identify some places which have extreme weather around the world.
- Know how to guess answers before listening.
II. TEACHER’S AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATIONS:
6. Teacher: pictures, textbooks, power point slides, ….
7. Students: textbook, notebook.
III. TECHNIQUES: Games, Self-Discover Learning, discussion, pairs and group works.

I. WARM-UP. T- Ss - T (5’) Bingo


Bingo
- T gives each students a bingo - Write down the vocabulary in the bingo
- T gives pictures of old vocabulary and asks sheet
students to fill the bingo table.
- Listen to the audio
- When students finish, teacher play an audio
that tell the student 4 bingo words. If the words
are in the same row or column of the bingo
sheet, the students must yell bingo and gives the
bingo sheet to Teacher

II. PRESENTATION. T - Ss - T / Ss - Ss .

Set context: (2’)
Ask questions:

 Do you like hot or cold weather? - Listen and answer the questions.
 How many different types of weather can
you say in English?
- Ask students if they prefer hot or cold
weather.
- Elicit a few answers from individual
students and encourage them to give
reasons for their answers.
