SECTION N1N2, NORTHSOUTH EXPRESSWAY

Method Statement for Demolition Works

1. Introduction:
The construction project includes the demolition of existing toilet comprising of two
building of male and female toilet, Elevated Water Tank and Sewage Treatment
Plant.

2. General Equipment:
i. Heavy machinery (mobile crane, excavators, bulldozers, backhoes).
ii. Construction vehicles for debris transportation away from site. (Lorries, roro
bins)
iii. Scaffolding for elevated work if required.
iv. Hand tools (hammers, saws, drills, etc.).
v. Safety equipment (helmets, gloves, safety harnesses, etc.).

3. Scope of Work:
The key components of the project are as follows:

a) Removal Works:
i. Terminate all mechanical services such as water supply and sewerage.
ii. Terminate all electrical supply and fittings
iii. Remove all loose furniture such as sink, mirror.
iv. Remove and dismantle all windows, toilet doors, grilles

b) Demolition Works:
i. Manually remove all roof tiles, purlins, rafter and trusses.
ii. For existing elevated water tank, start demolishing from top to bottom.
Mobile crane is use to take down the debris.
iii. Hack and demolish toilet brickwall.
iv. Demolish RC frame start from the roof level, down using breaker attached
to backhoe.
v. Demolish RC floor using breaker.

c) Clearing the Debris:


i. All debris arise from the demolition work should store inside roro bin and
cart away from site.

4. Health and Safety:


i. All workers must comply with relevant safety regulations.
ii. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory on the construction site.
iii. Regular safety briefings and toolbox talks will be conducted.

5. Quality Control:

i. Regular inspections will be conducted at key construction milestones.

6. Environmental Considerations:

i. Proper waste disposal practices will be implemented.


ii. Mitigation measures for noise and dust pollution will be employed.
