Now, what should we do when we have classes inside the classroom?

2. Be positive and be happy
3. Be respectful to your classmates and to your teacher
4. Be cooperative when we have activities

B. Motivation

Before we begin with our new lesson for today, we are going to play a game. I Yes Sir!
will show you a pictures of numbers and then you will tell what numbers is (Everyone in the class
being present in the pictures. participating)

Mystery Number Game

 Materials: Whiteboard or chalkboard.


 Activity: Write clues about a mystery number (e.g., "The digit in the tens place
is 4. The digit in the hundreds place is 7. The digit in the ones place is 2.") and
have students guess the number. This is a great way to build reasoning skills and
reinforce place value.

C. Proper lesson / Presentation

Our numeration is called Hindu-Arabic or Decimal System. The Hindu-Arabic system


uses place value which makes it easier to read numbers. Let’s have a glimpse over this
chart.

In a four-digit number, the place value of each digit from left to right are: ones, tens,
hundreds, and thousands.
The place value of chart below shows the number 5,678. How do we read this number?

The number 5,678 is read as “five thousand, six hundred seventy-eight”.


The table below shows the place value and value of each digit in the number 5,678.
Look that the value is simply the product of the digit and its place value.
