Review of Related Literature for DYCI TAP ID system

1. Al-Mansor and Fatimah Zaharah Ali(2021) took RFID technology into consideration as a
means for establishing a safe and effective system to track attendance. It will be more
suitable for RFID than conventional air code systems as it employs contactless reading
and also facilitates durability in various weather conditions. The tag with the RFID
technology used for every student is to be tracked for their attendance by this proposed
system. The RFID module of the table is able to check the data from the cards and later
gives you a displayed name of the associated student. Ultimately, then, a reading is
concluded and the attendance record is copied from the SD card on the computer. The
efficient low-cost system was designed in a modular way that enables it to fit different
settings with its ease of installation through the arduino interface. The authors predict that
a lot of currently used administrative and business procedures would be improved due to
the employing of RFID; yet, more substantial advancements of this sort of technology are
expected to induce the commercial field in the nearest future.

2. Rajikabi, Rashad, & Sara (2018) provides a system for lab/classroom that allows for
proper access management and attendance tracking that uses RFID and Arduino
Technologies. A cloud-based student management system that is capable of surmounting
previous hurdles such as length registration processes becomes to many of the students an
affordable and convenient option. The usage of RFID devices that were installed and
RFID cards that were assigned facilitate the registration process and allow instructors less
time managing the list since the importance was on the information not the process.

3. Qureshi (2020) explore a multitude of problems related to the attendance management in

Saudi Arabia's King Abdul-Aziz University(KAU) and the industrial sector through the
utilization of Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology. Through the use of the
current computer science, the outlined system using RFID is developed to solve the
issues of time wastefulness, mistake occurrences, absenteeism, and poor parent-teacher
communication by proposing an accurate, safe, automatic and attendance solution. The
solution brings in SMS message alerts, web and mobile pages, daily reports of absence,
lower workload, and improved accuracy. The system is both developed and tested at
KAU using a study conducted from a case using a technique called the Odusplus; and the
results showed significant progress as compared to other systems. Although installation
and maintenance of this facility have their costs, such as they are, it is justified by its
effectiveness and efficiency. There are other plans to extend its use to KAU
administration.

4. Through RFID, IoT, and web technologies the group Dandekar et al designed the student
management system which is used to enhance school security and simplifies attendance
tracking. The system runs on a ESP8266 Node MCU board as the main controller
(linking RFID modules to student cards scan and PHP data transmission to the MySQL
database). Parents may access any time educational reports on student attendance much
quicker and also get to save energy and money compared to the conventional attendance
collection methods. The prototype presents an economic, flexible space-saving design
option that can be employed for classrooms at various levels. Such technology also helps
teachers get better results in teaching and learning and the classroom security by allowing
prompt interventions for absentee or late pupils.

5. As concerns about child safety increase, Rahman and others (2019) raise the idea of a
RFID-based security and access control system for primary institutions. Every student
always gets a new RFID card, as it is needed to be scanned using an RFID reader which
is linked to an Arduino at the very moment when the student enters the classroom.
Parents receive SMS messages in case their children are absent; administrators have the
ability to open the emergency doors. After school, parents should first scan their child's
RFID card to make sure restrictions are set and security is increased. Prospective
enhancements possibly will be, co-ordination with CCTV, cloud database storage for
GPRS or some other biometric identification techniques. This technology, being flexible,
can be used for other school safety issues and also offer a better solution to other
commercial environment.
6. Rjeib et al. (2018) present a system of management of student attendance and an
information service for academic institutions that are RFID-based. It allows controlling
student attendance and offering some information services by using web-applications,
RFID technology and programmable logic circuits (Arduino). The software is aimed not
only at providing grade and schedule details for each student, but also at streamlining
student attendance and monitoring those who are absent from school. It is found out that
the presented solution saves time through writing less documentation, and by not using
any power. Besides underlining the items of interest and showing the areas of strengths
and weaknesses, the study evaluates the systems of RFID today.

7. Ishaq and Bibi (2023) carry out a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature,
focusing on twenty-one articles which they explore. These tools eradicate both the time
wasting and proxies that come with the manual methods of monitoring attendance in
educational environments. This method eliminates the need for manual attendance
monitoring, is highly reliable and time-saving, with RFID readers automatically
registering students’ attendance. The authors' final point in the study is that there are
many gains that can be obtained by putting such systems on the ground and these include
providing recommendations and the best practices to educational institutions that are
striving to enhance academic performance and student engagement via innovative
attendance tracking systems.

8. In terms of the problem of the reduced frequency of student attendance classes, the use of
an RFID-based attendance recorder with SMS alert system can be seen of as an effective
method of attendance tracking. The system employs a database and GSM technology to
verify the child's attendance with SMS (sending text messages) to the parent to notify the
parent when the child is present or not present respectively. In contrast, low-cost platform
stands out among traditional approaches as it has certain advantages such as automatic
attendance mechanism, portability and low power usage. This method proposed by
Kumar and his peers will support and find an applicable model to increase parental
involvement in their children's academic performance and attendance monitoring.

9. The article narrates a campus based monitoring system which makes use of RFID
technologies to provide university campus with a high level of safety and security.
Campus readers scattered all over the campus can not only recognize staff and students'
IDs, but also read the RFID tags attached to them. First, the sensor will capture data and
then such data will be sent to be processed centrally to detect abnormal movements or
actions. The technology is accurate in the area of monitoring activities on the campus and
even goes a step further by way of sending out alerts to make security tighter. The
technology further assists onsite campuses with advanced details about behavior and
movement. The introduced RFID-based solution is of great value to the campus life. It is
scalable, flexible and easily adaptable. The innovative device showed its ability for
general use as it successfully indicated RFID-cards and controlled servo-motors.

10. Students' time of arriving and departing from school sites are detected using the IoT and
RFID technologies. Informative SMS notifications and passive RFID technologies are
given to parents on their child’s location, parents can be able to communicate with each
other quickly and conveniently. As for system administration, registers of attendance,
parent accounts, and RFID registrations are all taken care of. In addition, introduction of
advanced GSM and RFID allows for the improvement of data manipulation and
communication and provide Senior High School students with cutting-edge and efficient
surveillance system. Thus no time loss occurs and all data is carefully handled which as a
result increases communication between parents and school and is a great help to the
administrative effectiveness.

11. According to the study, the RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) may be a
solution to the tracking of students' whereabouts on the school grounds and attendance
management. RFID scanners installed throughout the campus would scan RFID tags
embedded in students' ID cards, allowing the system to detect and register the students
present among the crowd automatically. Whenever a child is entering or leaving the
school, parents receive signals that keep them updated on the situation and provide a
sensation of tranquility. The technology automatically solves the problem of absenteeism
and brings up the efficiency by tracking the attendance of students. As a whole, the
proposed method helps to prohibit parent-school communication, improve school
security, and supervise attendance as well. All three things lead to a more effective and
responsible learning environment.

12. Facing the problem of manual attendance tracking in under-developed countries is the
focus of this study and it recommends the system of RFID-based student attendance
management. RFID technology is used in this system and is more convenient because
your attendance information is collected automatically. Machine learning reduces the
need to manually collect school data and gives school officials a very accurate count of
enrolled students to help them make long-term business decisions. Students don't need to
waste precious class time by scanning ID cards. New technology enables them to scan or
wave their cards over an RFID detector installed beside the lecture hall's entranceway.
The authors state that this system indeed has a potential to change completely the
approach to tracking attendance in Nigerian higher education institutions that were
previously used and provide a more reliable and effective alternative to current practices.
The possibility of other discipline to have a great demand for the technology due to
growing this technology is very large.

13. An attendance monitoring system which consists in using of RFID and GSM networks is
presented in this article for educational institutions that have students missing class.
Manual capturing of attendance takes too much of the time. It also involves a lot of effort
which is involved in the old fashion ways. RFID tags for their identification are
implanted in the active mode. The system suggested to automate the process. Within
these areas there are tags that are read by the RFID readers and shown to the database of
students. The proposed system will act as a reliable option for student and attendance
information retrieval and class totals tracking because it utilizes the RFID technology and
C++ programming coupled to simplify the attendance recording process.

14. The study is envisioned to ease student attendance concerns in the developing world by
applying an RFID-based system of student attendance management that would replace
the manual process. With RFID Technology, this system being automated makes
attendance recording more automatic without the need for manual data entry. By this,
machine learning is also used to get school administrators the exact student numbers.
This way students will be able to save a little bit of time because they only need to bring
their RFID cards with them and scan there in the entrance to the lecture hall. In their
minds, this technology could meet the existing needs very well and the way attendance is
taken at higher learning institutions in Nigeria might be changed forever. Besides they are
sure that the increasing demand as well as popularity of this technology will be satisfied
as it is so universal and easy in use. The extra article discusses the system which tracks
the attendance of students in the educational institutions and it uses the GSM and the
RFID network. This novel range manages attendance by RFID active tags and readers,
making it possible to achieve precision data collection regarding attendance and class
tracking.

15. Muhammad Ahmad Baballe, The topic "A Study on the Components used in RFID
System and its Challenges", is a study on RFID system, this technology is swiftly gaining
mainstream acceptance across a multitude of industries. By implementing the RFID tags
and readers, it can automatically recognize products at the package level instead of older
barcode systems. The article overviews the advantages of using the RFID technology in
student or employee attendance instead of the manual forms of the paper type. It also
points out the imperfection of RFID technologies in real life and indicates the main
characteristics of such systems. The study dives into historical developments of RFID
technology that have impacted the day-to-day operations in different industries by using
the most recent research.
