have a prayer first.

(Student) please lead the prayer. (Student leads the prayer)

Good morning everyone! Today is

Monday, how was your weekend? (Students response)
That’s good to know! So now, let’s
check your attendance first. Do we (Student response)
have any absent today? From the
girls? Boys?

Are you ready for our class?

Yes, ma’am!
Drill:
But before we proceed to our topic, I
have here a given.

Solve the following farm areas orally.

1. 2m x 5m=
2. 3cm x 2cm= 10m
3. 1m x 3m= 6cm
4. 4cm x 4cm= 3m
5. 4m x 2m= 16cm
8m

Very Good Class!

Review:
Before we start our next lesson, what
was the last topic we’ve discussed last Our last topic ma’am is about the
meeting? Anyone? Yes (Student)? orchard planting, and it includes the
systems in planting.
Very Good (Student), who can
enumerate the different systems in Square System, Rectangular System,
planting? Yes (Student)? Quincunx or Diagonal System,
Hexagonal System, and Contour system
ma’am.
Very Good class!

Motivation:
And now I have here a video clip, I
want you to observe carefully on what
the video is showing.
(Show the video clip)

What did you observe in the video clip?

Yes (Call student)? The video is all about the different
designs of irrigation system ma’am.
Very Good!

Presentation of the Lesson:

So our topic today is about the different
designs of irrigation system.

But before we proceed to our proper

discussion, let’s have an activity first.

B. Lesson Proper
Activity:
I will divide the class into 2 groups.
 Each group will be given an
envelope with different pictures
and words inside of it and you
will try to identify and match
each picture and the word.

You can form a circle so you can

collaborate with each other. You only
have 3 minutes in this activity.

Do you have any questions class?

Yes ma’am… None ma’am
You can start now.

After 3 minutes…Times Up!

Group number 1 and 2, post your

output on the board

Very good class!

As what I observe everyone have their

own knowledge about the pictures and
the names of the picture.

Analysis:
What do you observe in our activity?
Yes (Student)? The activity ma’am is about the different
designs of irrigation system.
Did you successfully identify each
picture? Yes ma’am… No ma’am.

So let’s find out!

Abstraction:
So now let’s start our discussion and
let’s understand what is irrigation
system design first.

What is irrigation system design?

Please read (Student).
- Irrigation system design
determines the efficiency and (Student read)
effectiveness of water use,
therefore influences the
profitability of the business.

Do you have any question? Did you

understand? None ma’am… Yes Ma’am

And now let’s define what is surface

irrigation.
SURFACE IRRIGATION- Water is
applied to the field in either the
controlled or uncontrolled manner.

Irrigations system has different designs

these include the:
1. Furrow Irrigation

- Water runs between rows from

a water source.

1.1 Furrow Irrigation by cutting ridges

- Water runs down from a plastic

tube that is being cut.

1.2 Furrow Irrigation with siphons

- Water flows through the tube to

transfer water from water
source.
2. Border Irrigation

- Water flows between dikes.

3. Basin Irrigation

- It is flooded with water so that

the roots of the crops are
submerged in the water paddy.
4. Sprinkler Irrigation

- With rotating nozzles on top of

the pipes.
5. Drip or Trickle Irrigation

- Water is made to trickle or fall

down drop by drop near the
roots of the plants.

Did you understand each designs of

irrigation system? Yes, Ma’am… None Ma’am.

Very good class!

So I have a question, considering the

different design of irrigation system, do Yes ma’am, because these designs will
you think all farm irrigation will be help the farmers to control the amount of
effective to the growth of crops? Why? water they are using and to promote
(Call student to answer) growth.

Very Good answer!

Another question, how will farmers live Without water, crops or plants will die,
if there is no irrigation system design? and farmers will lose their income.
(Call student)

Very good answer!

Any questions? Clarifications? Yes, ma’am… None Ma’am.

Generalizations:
So again, (Student) what are the 1. Furrow Irrigation
different designs of irrigation system? 2. Boarder Irrigation
3. Basin Irrigation
4. Sprinkler Irrigation
5. Drip or Trickle Irrigation

What design of irrigation talks about Furrow Irrigation

the water runs between rows from a
water source? (Call student)

What irrigation design that involves Sprinkler Irrigation

with rotating nozzles on top of the
pipes?
Drip or trickle irrigation
What irrigation design that water is
made to trickle or fall down drop by
drop near the roots of the plants?
Border irrigation
What irrigation system talks about the
water flows between dikes?
Basin irrigation
What irrigation system that involves
with a flooded with water so that the
roots of the crops are submerged in
the water paddy.

Very Good class!

Application:
So now let’s have a group activity
again.
GROUP ACTIVITY:
Group 1: Cabbage farm
Group 2: Rice field (Start the activity)
 With the same group of two.
Each group will make a simple
sketch or a farm irrigation
system design that will suits with
the assigned farm. You can
choose any of the different
designs in farm irrigation
system.
 Each group will present their
activity.
 You only have 5 minutes in this
activity.
Guide questions:
1. Why did you come up with this
irrigation system design?
2. What is the importance of
having this irrigation design?

Scoring Rubrics:
Content 10%
Neatness 10%
Presentation 10%
Applicability 10% Yes ma’am… No ma’am
TOTAL 40%
Did you understand class? (Start Presenting)

After 5 minutes…TIMES UP!

Group number 1 you can start (Start Presenting)
presenting.

Group number 2 you can start.

Very Good class! All your performance

was excellent!

So now, let’s have a quiz. Get 1 whole

paper, and write your name, together
with your grade and section, and also
the date today. You only have 5
minutes to answer the quiz.

Evaluation:
A. Identification: Identify what
type of design of irrigation
system in each item. (5 minutes)

____1.
____2.

____3.

Describe the design of irrigation

system in each item.
1. Furrow Irrigation
2. Basin Irrigation
3. Border Irrigation
4. Sprinkler Irrigation
5. Drip or Trickle Irrigation

(After 5 minutes) TIMES UP! Pass your

paper in front of you class.

Assignment
For your assignment, answer the
following questions: (10 points)
1. What are the different classes of
hazard and its meaning?
2. Give at least 4 personal
protective equipment used in
farming.
