The Data Protection Act 2018 governs how we use personal data. For details of how we will
use your personal information and who we may share it with please see our Privacy Notice

access your personal information and how to complain if you have concerns.
The Decision
I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the
requirements of paragraph(s) V4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for Visitors because:
• When assessing your application, I have to consider whether you intend to leave the
United Kingdom at the end of your visit. As part of this, I have to consider the
information provided by you about your personal and economic circumstances.
• You are applying to visit the UK for one month and four days for tourism purposes
and to visit family. You state that you are retired and that you are in receipt of an
additional income from family and another source (unspecified) that amounts to
£11,371 a year. You have estimated the cost of your trip to be £1,000 and your family
in the UK are to meet this expense.
• Whilst I accept that your family will provide for the costs of your trip, it is your own
personal and financial circumstances that I need to assess. It is your responsibility to
satisfy me that they are such that if granted leave to enter you will abide by all of the
conditions attached to any such leave and that you will depart the United Kingdom on
completion of the proposed visit.
• In support of your application you have provided documents related to your sponsors
in the UK. A title deed and a vehicle registration book are noted from Zimbabwe;
however, your own personal financial circumstances have not been demonstrated. It
is not clear how you maintain yourself on a day-to-day basis in Zimbabwe.
Consideration has also been given to the number of family members you have
residing in the UK and your demonstrated ties to Zimbabwe.
• Overall, the documents provided do not demonstrate economic or personal ties that
would satisfy an assessment of your intention to depart the United Kingdom at the
end of your visit.
• Each of the factors above have not been taken in isolation but considered
collectively. Given the above I am not satisfied that your personal circumstances are
as such that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit and that you are
genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is refused under paragraph V
4.2 (a) & (c).
