Check list For Inspection Of Scaffolding

Risk Assessment & Competency: Scaffolds are erected under the supervision with

competent scaffolder (As per risk Assessment)
Access: There is proper access to all parts of the scaffolds Platform. Access ladder for
2
tower scaffold are fitted internally and not externally.

Foundation: All upright of the scaffold are mounted on proper base plates and timber
3
sole plates if necessary, or prevented in some other way from slipping or sinking.

Missing parts: Ledgers, transom, joint pin, and other No parts of the scaffolds, including
4
coupler, have been Removed after it was erected.
Tie: The scaffold is secured to the building in enough places to prevent scaffold
5
collapsed.
Bracing: The uprights of the scaffold are vertical and securely braced to prevent swaying
6 or displacement. Bracing-Cross bracing along the width of scaffold. Longitudinal/diagonal
bracing installed approx 45degree.
Platform Planks/Boards: The platforms are closed boarded with scaffold boards or
7 planks of proper grade timber without The results of the scaffolds inspections are
recorded and signed obvious defects such as knots.
Scaff Tag system: There are effective barriers and warning notices to stop using an
8
incomplete scaffold e.g. one that is not fully boarded.
9 Planks Leveling: The boards are arranged to avoid the risk of tripping.
Fall protection: Guard rails 42”, Mid Rails 21” and toe boards 8” are erected to a safe
10 height at the open sides and ends of scaffolds platform from which there is a drop of 2
meters or more.

Load limit: Materials are evenly distributed over scaffold design to carry materials and

they are not overloaded.

12 Design: Unsecured Tower scaffolds have a height to base ratio of not more than 3 to 1.

13 Base plate jack: Height extension limit maintaining,

Full body harness: Workers on suspended scaffolds are using lifelines anchored
14
overhead to the building and not to the scaffolds.
Weekly inspection: Scaffolds are inspected by competent person at least once a week
15
and always after windy and bad weather.

16 Record: The results of the scaffolds inspections are recorded and signed
