Russell says that when he first got started online, he had no desire to make anywhere near that.
This wasn’t something that was even close to his thought process. All he really wanted to do,
starting out, was to cover some bills. He had just gotten married, and he wanted to cover his

marketing.

Initially, Russell remembers being on a phone call, and this guy said that he was an internet
millionaire. So, he wrote down on a piece of paper “I want to be a millionaire”. He was a
college student at the time, and it didn’t seem very likely. Still, he hung this note up on the wall
and just started thinking about what it would really take to make a million dollars in a year. He
divided a $1,000,000 by 365, and he found that it would take he would need to make $2,739.73
a day.

Russell started making these little sales funnels. He wanted to see if he could use them to make
some money every single day. He had some that flopped, and they wouldn’t even make a
penny. Other ones would make him $5 or $10 a day, and then he had some that would make
him a lot more. Every time he made a sales funnel, he would get closer and closer to his goal.
Currently, in his company they have 27 active sales funnels, and each one of them is making
between $20 ‐ $17,947 per day! Well, it was actually the one that he sold that was making him

It’s nothing extravagant, but it was making him some money at the time, although it may have
just been five dollars a day or something like that. One day, a friend of Russell’s called him up.
This person had a similar business to Russell’s. He was creating information, products much like
Russell’s and selling them. However, that day everything changed. He said “Russell, I’ve figured
out a way to double your business.”

Russell says that whenever someone tells him something like that, he listens. Russell’s friend
was adding something called OTOs, or one‐time offers, to his site. “What happens is that when
someone buys my first product, I then offer them the special one‐time offer, and they can buy a
more expensive, updated version of that product. The coolest part is that 20‐30% of the people
who bought the first thing are buying the second thing.”

“Man, that is one of the coolest things in the world. Do you think that that will work on my
websites?” Russell asked. His friend told him to go try it. They worked together to add a very
simple upsell to Russell’s site. He went to his potato gun website, and he added a very simple
upsell. This is demonstrated in the picture above. Just like Russell’s friend had told him, he
added this one little page and was able to more than double the business that he got through
this little website.

Russell says that this made him so excited that he went through all of his little websites and
started adding upsells to all of them. He literally was able to double his business just by adding
one page to each of his sites, essentially creating these little bitty funnels. Isn’t that crazy?
Think about this from a real‐world perspective. If Russell was a doctor, for example, what
would he have to do to double his income. He would have to go back and take 10 more years
of medical school, and that still wouldn’t double his income. In most professions, the prospect
of doubling your income isn’t even realistic. All Russell had to do was add one simple little page
to each of his sites and he was able to accomplish this.

Russell says that he became obsessed with this. After all, if one tweak could do that much for
him, what could other tweaks do? Should he add downsells? Should he add exit pop‐ups?

They started testing things and figuring out what they could do to each of their websites in
order to make the most money possible. It was great, but it was also the hard way to go about
it. That’s just the way that they had to do it for over a decade. You’ll learn about the hard way
to do this in today’s lesson, but you’ll also discover how you can do this much more quickly and
easily today.

The Hard Way VS The Easy Way

See the pictures on the wall in the screenshot above. These are pictures of Russell’s
supplement funnel. This is the funnel that was making him over $17,000 per day. Russell went
out and got a supplement created, and they had it shipped out to some warehouses. So, they
knew that they had to build out a funnel for this new product, and so they began going through
the process.

Step1 was to design the funnel itself. The second step was to get someone to write the copy
for it. Russell admits that he didn’t want to write the copy because he didn’t know much about
the supplement, other than that it worked. He hired a really good copywriter to write the sales
copy for the pages and the videos for this product, but it cost him $20,000 to have this done.

Next, Russell hired a designer to take the sales letters and redesign them to make them look
nice. This cost about $3,000. After that, he had to get a web designer to take these images and
put them online so that they were actually websites, which cost him another $2,000. So,
Russell had a website up, but people still couldn’t buy anything. That meant that he needed a
programmer for the auto‐responder, the shopping cart, etc., which cost him another $2,000.
He also needed an Analytics expert to do the split testing and other such things. This was yet
another $2K. All in all, the upfront cost for this funnel was $29,000.

You can buy a brand new car for $29k. That’s what it took to get this one funnel built. Russell
already knew that it would cost this much before he started out, so this wasn’t really the worst
part for him. The biggest problem Russell says, was that their product was sitting in a
warehouse for eight weeks while all of this got done. It sat there for eight weeks, just gathering
dust. It took forever. If you’ve ever struggled online in the past, it’s probably because that is
the process that most people have to go through in order to build a funnel. This is hard, it’s
expensive, and it takes forever.

Secret#1: Funnel Hacking

To truly grasp this first secret, you’ve got to learn something that Russell actually learned from
Tony Robbins, which was “If you want to achieve success, all you need to do is find a way to
model those who have already succeeded.” Russell says that he thought back to some of the
things that he’s been successful with in his life. For instance, when he was young, he wanted to
be the best wrestler in the country, but the problem was that he wasn’t really that good. So, he
went out there and he found other wrestlers that were amazing. He used to watch video tapes
of them, and he would model after what they did. He modeled after their moves and their
training.

In a very short period of time, Russell was able to go from being a bad wrestler to being a state
champion and an All‐American, to getting a college scholarship, and then to becoming one of
the top‐ten wrestlers in the country. Now, how about when he launched his business? All he
didn’t have a business degree, and all he really wanted to do was make some money. He got on
the Internet, and he started to figure out how to make money. When he did, he discovered
very quickly that there were a lot of people out there who were way smarter than he was.
Instead of trying to learn what they knew, he just looked at what they were doing and modeled
after them.

Once again, he saw results in a very short period of time. He went from being a broke college
kid to making a million dollars within a year of graduating from college. The exact same thing is
true with sales funnels. The mistake that most of you are going to make initially is that you are
going to go out there and try to make something from scratch. That is not how to be successful
with sales funnels. You need to model funnels that are already successful.

Russell says that there’s always someone that comes up to him and says “You know, that’s cool,
but I have figured out a better way to do it.” Or, they might say “I came up with a new funnel
that no one has ever thought of before.” They are so excited, but Russell says that he always
takes a step back and tells them the same thing. He says “You can always tell who the pioneers
are because they have arrows in their back and are lying face down in the dirt.”

This is true if you think about it. As entrepreneurs, we have so much passion and drive to share
our message or the things that we create with the world. It’s a beautiful thing, but most
entrepreneurs run out of one of two things before they find success. They either run out of
time, or they run out of money. The reason why this happens is because they are trying to be
creative and figure all of this stuff out. They get all of these arrows in their back, and they
never reach a point where they can actually serve people and help them. That’s the problem.

Russell remembers seeing a man speak at a seminar once. His name was Porter Stansberry.
Porter works for a company called Agora Publishing. If you have never heard of Agora, they are
big. They sell financial newsletters, and they make over a billion dollars a year doing this.
Porter runs the biggest division at Agora; It’s called Stansberry Research. When he got on
stage, he started sharing his sales funnels. Russell says that he felt like a little kid when he
listened to him talk. He was taking notes feverishly.

This was really exciting for Russell, and then all of the sudden, Porter stopped and said “You
know, what’s interesting to me. Every year people try to compete with Agora. The first thing
that they do is try to come in and undercut our pricing. They think that if their prices are
cheaper they can get all of our customers. We’ve tested that, and we know that it’s impossible
to acquire customers at that price point.”

He said that the man continued on, saying, “They come in and they fail. Then, people try to
come in and try to do it more expensively, try to do a different type of funnel, or they try
something else. Don’t you understand, we are Agora Publishing? We spend $100,000,000 a
year just in testing everything you can dream of. We’ve got hundreds of people who do
nothing more than test our offers. You can come in and you can try as hard as you want, but
you will never beat Agora Publishing unless you copy us.” Russell says that’s when a light bulb
went off in his head.

Russell realized that he needed to go and find out exactly what’s working today and start there.
Other people have already trail blazed for you, and you don’t have to go figure it all out
yourself. That’s what funnel hacking is all about.

Funnel Hacking Step #1 – Find Someone Successful to Funnel Hack

The first step in funnel hacking is to find someone that has a successful funnel to hack. Russell
went out and tried to find funnels that were for products similar to his supplement. He found
the website shown above. This company was trying to sell a nerve pain supplement just like
Russell’s team was. Russell’s first thought was “Man, this site is ugly.” He’s a marketer, so he
wanted to come up with something better initially, but he swallowed his pride, realizing that
the people who launched this page have already proven that it works. These people have
proven that this particular market responds to this type of page, so why change anything?

Russell decided not to go and reinvent the wheel; he was just going to model after what was
already working. So, the very first version of Russell’s sales letter looked very similar to theirs.
This is demonstrated in the screenshot above as well. Russell’s is the one shown on the right.
Notice that they didn’t copy anything, but they did make it look similar. For instance, the first
page has a logo up on the top left of the page, so that’s where Russell and his team put theirs.
The first page contains a long form sales letter, and so does Russell’s. The original page had a
phone number up at the top, and so does Russell’s. They had a picture of the product, and so

does Russells page. In other words, Russell and his team modeled after the look and feel of the
page, but they didn’t just copy the other web page.

Russell’s team modeled after the original website as close as they could, and they launched it.
This little website ended up making them about $20,000 a month. That’s not too bad, right?
Russell was pretty proud of it. Still, he decided to find something else to model after. He knew
that there was probably someone out there that was really having success with a product like
this. Eventually, he did find a funnel for supplements, and the owners of that funnel were
making about $3,000,000 a month.

Funnel Hacking Step #2 – Funnel Hack Them (Buy Their Product

The funnel that Russell found (that was bringing in all of that money) is shown above. Russell
thought to himself, “If they are making $3,000,000 a month, I’ve got to figure out what’s
happening.” So, he did what every good entrepreneur should do: He pulled his wallet out of
his pocket and bought the product.

Once you come in, all you see is the website. Russell had to see what was happening behind
the scenes in order to make all the money they were making. So, he bought the product, and
then he was able to see their special offer. It was a one‐time offer for six more bottles of the

Russell was thinking “That doesn’t make any sense at all. I just bought four bottles of this
supplement, and there’s no way that I’m going to buy any more.” He was just shaking his head,
thinking “This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing.” Russell took a step back and said to himself,
“You know what? He’s making $300,000,000 a month. That’s a lot more than I am. I’m going
to take my skepticism and pride and hang them up on the wall, and I’m going to assume that
they have tested this. I’m going to assume that they have some arrows in their back.

Funnel Hacking Step #3 – Sketch A Blueprint

The five pages in the screenshot above are making them $3,000,000 a month. Don’t you think
that it would be worth investing $100 to find out what is happening behind the scenes. Russell
advises that you get good at buying people’s products if you want to be successful. Once he
saw their funnel, Russell went to his whiteboard and sketched out a blueprint of what he
needed to create to be successful himself. He now had a blueprint that showed him exactly
what to do and how to do it. He took this blueprint and used it to create their own sales funnel.

Funnel Hacking Step #4 – Build It In Click Funnels

Russell logged into Click Funnels and started building their new sales funnel. He just followed
the blueprint. He created a video sales letter like they did, he had an order form like theirs, and
he modeled their price point. He even modeled after their upsell, making six more bottles
available. You can see in the picture above that Russell’s sales funnel ended up resembling
theirs very closely. He didn’t copy anything. He modeled after the look, the layout, and the
prices that they had.

They took their new sales funnel and launched it, and they were able to go from making
$20,000 a month to almost $20,000 a day. Hopefully, you can see the power behind all of this
now. This Funnel Hacks process is vital to you and your success. If you want to be successful six
months from now, or a year from now, you’ve got to follow this process. Does that make
sense? Now, keep in mind that Russell’s total investment for this was just $100. It would have
taken him years to test out all the variations, and he still wouldn’t have ever gotten to the point

Not long ago, Russell got a call from one of his friends. His name is Drew Canole. He had a
supplement that he was going to watch called ‘Organifi’. He knew that Russell had had success
with funnels in the past, so he asked him to come out and show him what his funnel could do.
Russell went to visit him, they hung out, and they drank green drinks together. Then, they went
to his conference room and mapped out a funnel on the windows. You can see Russell is doing

Russell gave this funnel to Drew as a gift, and he launched it through the same sales funnel,
essentially. A guy named Djamel, that works for Drew’s company and was in charge of the sales
funnels. He is shown in the picture above. Djamel gave a short speech about how modeling
after Russell’s funnel brought them great success. He said:

“I’d like to reemphasize his point about cloning, and copying, and modeling what
works. So, we are a digital product company, and we have information products,
coaching products, and we were doing about a million a year. I manage all of the
sales funnels and sales optimization, and we were going to come out with a
physical product line. And, we were like ‘ Who’s done this before? Who’s been
really successful. We reached out to Russell… He helped us model exactly… The
first upsell that we had in place is more of the same thing that they just bought.
And, we were like, ‘That doesn’t make any sense?’”

He continued on, saying:

ClickBank.com. ClickBank has over 100,000 successful sales funnels inside of their marketplace,

in the screenshot above. The first time Russell saw the ‘chicken coop’ sales page shown in the
picture, he thought that it was a joke. He still laughs about it to this day.

The sales page being referred to was actually created by one of Russell’s friends who teaches
people how to make chicken coops in their backyard in a short span of time, like over the
weekend. Russell finds this humorous, but the truth is that this particular funnel makes his

While demonstrating all of this, Russell chose ‘Health & Fitness’. When he did, the site revealed
all of the different sales funnels pertaining to this particular topic, and they were listed in
accordance with how good they were selling. You can see in the screenshot below that ‘Venus
Factor’ was the top one listed when Russell took this screenshot. That is the #1 sales funnel
right now in the ‘Health & Fitness’ category. This is a great way to find a good sales funnel.

Now, how do you know how much money this sales funnel is bringing in? The truth is that
there’s no real way to know for sure. The reason why Russell can estimate this is because last
year he had a friend that made it to the #1 spot in the ‘Health & Fitness’ category. This person
was making $50,000 a day when he was in this spot. Still, he doesn’t really know what Venus

Anyway, Russell guesstimates that Venus Factor is making somewhere around $100K per day.

Secret #2: Funnel Cloning

You are now going to learn how you can begin cloning the funnel, or funnels, that you find using
Russell’s Click Funnels software. With this software, you can clone just about any funnel you
like within a ten‐minute time span. You can see an example of the blueprint that Russ
sketched out above. After doing one of these sketches, Russell used to have to meet with his
designer, and his webmaster, and his programmer, and his analytics person. He’d say “Here’s

As you can see the first page of this particular funnel is an opt‐in page with a lead magnet.
Basically, you would use a page like this to give someone something in exchange for their name
and their email address. On the second page, Russell is going to have his core offer. So, on a
page such as this, you would try to sell someone something, right? As you can see in the
picture above, there’s a video that convinces people that they need to buy and then an order
button below that.

After that, the visitor would reach the third page, which is an order form. This is where they
would put in their credit card information and hit ‘submit’. The next step would be to offer
them an upsell. You’ve probably learned about this already from going to McDonalds. That’s
what they are doing when they ask you “Do you want fries with that?” This simple phrase
makes McDonalds millions of dollars every year. It works the same way for just about every
other type of business, meaning that adding an upsell to your offer can dramatically increase
your revenue.

Upsells work incredibly well online, because people can typically just click on a button to accept
it. They don’t have to reenter their credit card information or anything. Once they click on the
button to accept the upsell, the one‐time offer product will be automatically added to their
order and their credit card will be charged for the item as well. This finally leads to the last
page in the funnel, which is the ‘Thank You’ page.

This is your typical sales funnel. It’s a pretty simple one. You can build something like this
inside of Click Funnels, or you can build far more complex funnels. It’s totally up to you. You
can even make far simpler funnels and pages if you would like. For now, let’s stick with this
particular blueprint. To do this, you would want to log into your Click Funnels account and
simply click on the ‘Add New Funnel’ button up at the top of your dashboard.

As soon as you click the button to add a new sales funnel, a pop up will appear asking you what
the goal of your funnel is. There are three options to choose from, as you can see in the
screenshot below. You’re going to choose whether you would primarily like to ‘Collect Emails’,
‘Sell Your Product’, or ‘Host Webinar’. The reason why you need to select one of these upfront
is because there are different types of sales funnels that you can use. If you were to choose
that you wanted to do a webinar, you would then choose whether you wanted to do a ‘Live
Webinar’ or a ‘Webinar Replay’. That’s just an example.

The point of the funnel that has been demonstrated today is meant for selling a product. So, in
this instance, you would want to choose ‘Sell Your Product’. After you choose this option, more
options appear to help narrow down what you’re trying to do. These are shown in the
screenshot above. As you can see, you can choose to create a ‘Sales Funnel’, do a ‘Product
Launch’ funnel, or create a ‘Membership’ site funnel. The ‘Sales Funnel’ would be the best
option to choose for the type of funnel that we are trying to create.

The next part of this setup process is where you will fill out some basic information about the
funnel you are creating. For instance, this is where you would give it a name. You simply name
it something relevant to what you are trying to do, and then you can also add a tag so that you
can locate the funnel easily in the future if you need to. Next, you’ll click on the ‘Build Funnel’
button. This will lead you to the page shown below.

You can probably see that the program has created all of the steps for this type of funnel and
listed them over on the left‐hand side. These are all of the pages of the funnel. Now, you
might notice that by default these pages aren’t quite the same as the pages that we have drawn
out for our case study funnel. There’s a squeeze page listed and a sales page. They are both
laid out similarly to the ones in the blueprint.

There’s also an order form listed, which is good, but our funnel doesn’t call for an order form.
All you have to do is click on the little ‘X’ that appears on the right‐hand side of one of these
tabs to delete that particular page. Russell clicked on the ‘X’ for the ‘Order Confirmation’ page,
and it was removed from this list immediately. Now, the only thing that is missing is the page
for the OTO, or one‐time offer. All you have to do at this point is click on ‘Add New Step’ and a
pop‐up will appear allowing you to name it. This is shown in the picture below.

As you can see, Russell named this new step ‘OTO Page’. Then, he clicked on the ‘Create Funnel
Step’ button down at the bottom‐right of the prompt. When he first did this, the OTO page was
down at the bottom of the list. All he had to do was click on the step and drag it up to where it
was supposed to go. After that, his sales funnel was in the correct order and it contained all of
the correct types of pages. The next step was to go through and edit each of the pages.

The first page is the ‘Squeeze page’. Russell clicked on this, and then he started looking at the
different templates within the main portion of the screen. As you can see in the picture below,
there are several different tabs up at the top to choose from, each containing different kinds of
templates.

Right now ‘Opt‐in’ is selected, and that’s exactly what’s needed for the first step. You’ll find
that there are lots of super‐cool templates, and they are always adding new ones. However,
what Russell really likes about Click Funnels, and what he encourages all his students to do, is
build your own templates as well. Although, there’s definitely no lack of available templates.
There’s a marketplace that you can get more from as well. So, there’s a never‐ending amount
of options for designing your pages.

Russell ended up picking a very simple template that he liked. When he launches this funnel,
he’ll be able to see in real time how many visitors have hit his page. He’ll also know many
people have joined his list as well as how many leads he has. On top of that, he’ll be able to see
what his average conversion rates are, which is really nice when you are trying to figure out if a
particular page is working or not. Another thing that you can do is click on the ‘Create
Variation’ button in order to start split testing two different versions of your page. This makes
things really easy to do. Russell remembers that this used to be so incredibly hard to do, but
now with Click Funnels it has become extremely simple.

The page being discussed in the previous paragraph is shown below. You can, for example, see
the button marked ‘Create Variation’. There’s also a button down at the bottom of the screen
that says ‘Edit Page’. You would want to click on this button to get started. This is going to
bring up the template you have chosen. This particular template is very simplistic. All you have
to do when the template opens up is edit the text in the optin form. You can do that by simply
clicking on it and typing. Everything in this program works in a very straightforward, click and
drag, fashion.

In the picture below, you can see the template opened up, and you can see all the options to
the right for editing the page. These options will change according to what part of the page you
have selected, and the best way to learn what options you have available would be to just go in
and start playing around with them. Most of the time you don’t even need to open up these
options. You can simply click on the portion of the page that you wish to edit and click and drag
to change its position, or start typing to delete or change the text.

The only time that you need the options in the window to the right is if you are trying to do
something more than just rearranging the template or editing the text, like change the color of
a button or change the font. In other words, most of your editing can be done within the
template itself.

As you can see in the picture above, when you have a certain portion of the page selected,
there are a number of different options that pop up. In the screenshot, Russell has his mouse
over a little ‘+’ symbol. If you click on this, another window will appear allowing you to choose
from a number of different elements that you can add to the page. This window includes

There are actually a lot more options than this. You can add progress bars, surveys, and a
whole lot of other really cool things. In his example, Russell chose ‘Video’ from the menu, and
you can see in the picture above that the placeholder for a video has been added to his
template.

You can use the options in the menu to the right to change the structure of all of this, if you
like. For instance, Russell chose to make the video on his opt‐in form a bit bigger. Then, he

separated this portion of the form into two different segments, and he put the video on one
side, and then he clicked and dragged the portion containing the blank fields into the remaining
empty segment. This is demonstrated in the picture below. You don’t have to have any
technical skills to do this. All you have to do is grab the portion of the page that you would like
to rearrange, click and drag it to where you want it, and then drop it.

Next, Russell decided to make the headline on his page a little bit bigger. Instead of having to
call a tech guy up, he just chose a font size from the menu to the right. Russell just kept clicking
around and making things look better and better. He remembers having to call his developer
up to change things a million different times. So, he is so happy to have a simple solution for
this now.

Russell says that he likes the blue background, but what if it doesn’t match your brand. You can
click on ‘Settings’ and then choose ‘Background Settings’. You can go in and change the
background settings by doing this. There are a variety of different options within this window.
You can choose from different images, or you can just choose a color. You can even upload
your own images if you like.

Russell chose one, and then he decided to add a progress bar. All he had to do was click on the
‘+’ symbol on the section he wanted to add it to, which is actually called the ‘Element Selector’,
and then he simply chose ‘Progress Bar’ from that menu. You can see the changes that have
been made in the screenshot below. At this point, you can change the look and feel of the

progress bar if you want to simply by clicking on the element and then opening the side menu
back up. You might change the color blue within it to a stripe, for example, or you can even
change the text from “Almost complete” to “50% Done”.

Next, Russell rearranged the elements so that the progress bar was right above the opt‐in
fields. Then, he clicked on the ‘Element Selector’ again in order to add a countdown clock.
After it was placed on the page, he selected it and opened up the side menu in order to change
it. As you can see in the picture above, it has been placed beneath the video and the numbers
each have circles around them.

Hopefully, you can tell that this page keeps getting better and better. Russell didn’t have to
have any special technical skills to do this, he just copied, pasted, and moved things around. At
this point in the process he saved it and clicked ‘Preview’ to see what the page would look like
when visitors come to his site. After looking at it, Russell decided that he didn’t want to put a
video on this page. There is a little trash can symbol that appears when you select a certain
element on a page. You can click on this to delete, and a little pop‐up will appear asking you if
you really want to perform that action.

After deleting the video from his opt‐in page, Russell moved forward to find an image to
replace it. The first thing that he did was click on the Element Selector and then he chose
‘Single Image’ from that menu. This caused a placeholder for an image to be put on the page.
Next, he pasted the image that he wanted into the ‘Image URL’ field within the side menu. This
is shown above, and as you can see, a picture of the book he’s going to use as an opt‐in has now
been placed right beside the opt‐in fields.

The last things that Russell did, in order to make this page look the way he wanted it to, was
delete the progress bar and he played around with the positioning of the countdown clock to
see what it would look like within the other sections. It didn’t even take a second for him to try
it out in three different positions. He simply clicked and dragged it from one area to the next.
Once again, he mentioned about how he would have to go back and forth with his designer for
changes like this to be made. Every time he wanted to make a small little change back then, it
would take at least 24 hours.

Look at the screenshot above. You can see that Page #1 is now finished. The next thing that
you would want to do is click on the ‘Sales Page’ step, which is over on the left‐hand side. If
you remember, this is the page that the core offer is going to go on. Once selected, you can
scroll through and find a template that you would like to use for it. After you have selected one
that you like, you can click on the ‘Edit Page’ button in order to edit the template just like you
were shown how to do with the squeeze page template.

Russell didn’t edit the ‘Sales Page’ during his presentation. That would have taken up too much
time, but he did select the ‘Order Form’ step in order to edit a template for that. This is
Russell’s favorite part. “In the past,” Russell explains, “If I ever wanted to do really cool‐looking
order forms, it was hard. If I used Infusionsoft, or Ontraport, or ClickBank, or any other tools
out there that give you order forms that typically don’t match your brand, or they’re not that
good‐looking. You’re kind of stuck with them because that’s all that we really have.”

With ClickBank, you can log in and choose any of the templates you like. This is all very simple
and easy to do. Then, you can move on to edit the template that you choose in order to make
your order form match up with your brand and look really, really awesome.

Look at the screenshot above. You can see how many people have filled out your order form,
how many filled out their contact information, how many people have purchased, and what
your conversion rates are. You can see everything from this little dashboard. You can also split

logos to it and other elements to make this look much, much cooler. Russel began by making
the ‘Complete Order’ button a little wider, and he added in two columns up at the top. Now,
let’s say that you wanted to add a video. If you add a video that shows people how to fill out
the order form, you’ll increase your conversion rate. This sounds kind of goofy, but it really
works.

Russell decided to have a video that teaches people how to fill out the order form up at the top,
and then he placed the ‘Complete Order’ button over on the top‐right. Then, he added the
credit card fields on top of that. Then, he placed his Visa and Mastercard logos down
underneath this and he added the email address field down at the bottom of the form. He also
has his ‘30‐Day Guarantee’ and ‘Secure Payment’ logos down at the bottom.

You can see how much this order form has changed in the screenshot above, and Russell has
been able to do all of this in just a few minutes. The next thing he did was a sense of urgency to
the form. All he did was click on the Element Selectore, and then he chose the option to add a
countdown clock. He loves to make circle ones so he changed the settings in the side menu to
accomplish this, and he made the clock quite a bit bigger than it originally was as well.

Next, Russell added another progress bar to show them that they were almost to the end, and
then he moved it to the top of the form by clicking and dragging. It’s up to you how want to
arrange all of the different items on your page. When you find the right combination, you can
save your work and preview it to see exactly what the page will look like when other people

both name the lesson, choose which section you want this new lesson added in, and you can
even set up a drip delay. In other words, you have the ability to set up when each lesson should

number ‘7’. That means that seven days after a person signs up, the lesson will appear.

An action funnel is kind of like a sales funnel, but things are happening outside of the actual
website. What you do is click on ‘Actionetics’, which you will find at the top of the interface in
your Click Funnels account. Then, click on ‘Action Funnels’, and you’ll be able to create one.
During the presentation, Russell named his ‘Squeeze Page Action Funnel’. Now, think about a
person who joins your list. What are some of the external things that are happening to that
person? Russell clicked to add a new step, and he named it ‘Take them off other email lists’.
That’s the first thing that he wanted to do; he wanted to take them off of all his other lists so
that they don’t get bombarded by emails.

Next, he added the action step to ‘Send Welcome Email’, and he was going to have that go out
immediately, so he left the field ‘When to Trigger Action’ blank. Then, the third step that he
added was to send a text message out to the subscriber. This would be a ‘Welcome Text’.
Russell also added a fourth action step, which was to send his subscribers another email with a
free gift. Russell named this ‘Free Gift Email’, and under ‘When to Trigger Action’ he put the
number ‘1’ so that this action would be triggered after the first day. Then on Day #2, Russell
decided to send an email out about his special offer. Finally, he created an action funnel step
titled ‘Invite to My Webinar’.

You can continue building out your entire sequence like that, and then at the end of the
sequence, you’ll want to add them back onto your other lists. Russell made this another action,

and he set this to be done after Day 5. All of these steps are shown above. This is an action
funnel. You can send out emails, text messages, and you can move them around to different
lists. In the future, Click Funnels is adding a feature that will allow you to change your action
funnel dynamically based on the things that your subscribers do.

Another thing that you can do is set up different criteria for them. For example, let’s say that
you only wanted to send out a particular email to people who have 50,000 followers on Twitter.
There are settings on this page to specify that. You can also set it to only send a certain email
out to people who have purchased a specific product. There’s just a ton of different things that
you can do with your action funnels.

One more thing that you should know about involving action funnels is the email editor. After
you decide on what emails are going to go out, you can pick one and edit it. When you do, Click
Funnels will show you how many people in the queue are currently going through the step that

many of these emails have been sent, how many have been opened, and how many have been

uses make his emails look very ugly. It’s hard to drag and drop them in, even if you have the

The first thing that you are going to do on this page is type in the URL of the site that you are
funnel hacking. As you can see in the picture, Russell typed in ‘www.VenusFactor.com’. He
clicked on the ‘Search’ button, and SimilarWeb brought up all kinds of data pertaining to
VenusFactor.com. For example, the data on the page shows that Venus Factor is generating
between 1 and 3 million visitors a month. If you were to scroll down the page a little, you’d
also find data on the top referring websites sending traffic to Venus Factor.

You can see in the screenshot below that the top referring website is Lifeguru.com. The second
is NaturalNews.com. The third is News.newsmax.com, and it goes on from there. When
Russell saw this, he started to think “The Lifeguru.com bar is like halfway full. So, if this site is
getting 3 million visitors a month, 1 million is probably coming in from Lifeguru.com. But, what
in the world is Lifeguru.com?” The next thing he would do at this point is go to the site and
check it out, and he finds out that it’s a blog that teaches people to find love, eat healthy, and
so on.

When Russell looked at this site, he started immediately wondering how this blog was sending
that much traffic to Venus Factor. So, he started scrolling around, and that’s when he saw a
little banner ad that said ‘5 Foods to never eat’. Russell clicked on this, and guess where it took
me? This ad took him over to Venus Factor.com. That’s kind of interesting. What’s even more
interesting is that if you head over to SimilarWeb.com, you’ll find a big button that says ‘Show
The Ads’. When you click on this, you can see all of the ads that they have ever run as a
company.

By default, you’ll just be able to look at their ads, which is pretty cool in and of itself. However,
if you upgrade, for a small fee, you can see how long their ads have been running for. So if, for
example, an ad has been running for something like 2 ½ years, that means that it most likely
worked for them pretty well because they aren’t going to pay to run an ad for that long unless it
was producing results.

With just a little bit of investigation, you know two really important things. 1) First of all, you
know exactly where they are advertising. That’s important. 2) Secondly, you know exactly
what they’re saying in order to get people to click on their banner ads. Now, if you have been
paying attention, then you know exactly what to do with this info. You model after what works.
That’s the name of the game. At this point, you’ll want to go get your own banner ads
designed, and you are going to model after the successful company you’re hacking. You’re

something similar. He gives them $20, and they make a banner ad that’s similar. There’s no
need to copy anything, okay? It’s unethical to steal someone else’s work. Plus, if you show the
same ads to the same websites, they aren’t going to run it for you. There’s an ethical reason for
you and a logical reason, so just don’t copy someone else’s ad.

A Quick Review

You just need is something similar. Look at the screenshot above. The ad up on the top left has
a pretty girl on it, so your ad needs to have a pretty girl on it. If they have a purple headline on
theirs, you should have a purple headline on yours. They have a little block of text that says
‘See these amazing tips’, so you need to have a similar call to action, and it should be placed in
a similar fashion on the ad as well. Why are you doing all of this? It’s because the company
that you are funnel hacking has proven that the people in your market clicks on ads that look
like this. So, why wouldn’t you model after it, right?

Once you are done modeling the ads that you find, you can go back to the exact same websites
that Venus Factor, or whatever company you are modeling after, is buying ads on, and you put
your ads on the exact same websites too. Hopefully, you understand this and you are shaking
your head up and down because now you understand exactly what you should do.

Russell recalls that when he first got started online, the big thing was Google Adwords. He
remembers going in and trying to use them, and he says that it was so confusing that he

found Facebook to be easier, but it was still pretty confusing.

Backpack for you. They will also unlock the training and push out your billing for an enter six

Can I export my pages?

Kind of. There’s no button inside of Click Funnels that you can use to export. The reason is that
Click Funnels isn’t just a page builder; you’re building funnels. There’s just so many things going
on in the background, and you don’t want your page to break. They did add a feature where
you can right click on a page that you want to save. This way, you have at least to back up what
you create.

Do I need Wordpress now?

A lot of people try to use WordPress for blogging, which is what the site is designed to use.
When it comes to building funnels, there are plug‐ins that you can use. The problem is that
they kind of work, sometimes. Russell recalls using one once that worked fantastically well.
That was until WordPress updated their system. That broke the plug‐in, and as a result, he

funnels in Word Press. That’s not what the site was originally made for.

Now, if you are a blogger, you should absolutely use WordPress for that. If you are a hardcore

your WordPress site.

Do I need an auto‐responder?

If you have an auto‐responder service that you love, you can use that company. Click Funnels
integrates with most of the major auto‐responders. Russell really believes that most people are
just going to use Actionetics after they get the chance to try it out. He has been in business for

right now. One thing that you might do is look around and see if there are any business owners
in your local area that might be able to benefit from a funnel. Russell says that he has friends
