6. Discuss the importance of back emf in DC Motor.
7. The maximum flux density in the core of a 250/3000-volts, 50-Hz single-phase transformer is
1.2 Wb/m2. If the e.m.f. per turn is 8 volts, determine (i) primary and secondary turns (ii) area
of the core.
8. A four-pole generator, having wave-wound armature winding has 51 slots, each slot
containing 20 conductors. What will be the voltage generated in the machine when driven
at 1500 rpm assuming the flux per pole to be 7.0 mWb?
9. State the following.
(i) Fleming’s Right Hand Rule
(ii) Fleming’s Left Hand Rule
In which machines, the above principles are applicable? Explain.
10. What is the basic use of a transformer? Derive the EMF equation of a
transformer.
11. Define logic gates. And write the truth table for the following condition and suggest the
suitable logic gate to replace the switch.
