1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all the safety instructions mentioned in this manual before & during installation,
start-up & operating this equipment.
The following symbols are used in the product and instruction manual to indicate that there are
precautions for safety:
Identifies instructions that must be observed in order to avoid physical injury and electric shock
or death to the operator.
Identifies instructions that must be observed in order to prevent the software or hardware from
being damaged or the system from becoming faulty.
This unit is not explosion-proof type. Do not use it in a place with explosive
gases to prevent explosion, fire or other serious accidents
Use power source that matches the rating of the unit. Use of power
source out of rating may cause fire.
Wiring is allowed only when all power supplies are turned off. This is
required for preventing a shock hazard.
Enforce construction of specified grounding wire by all means. If the
specified grounding construction is neglected, a shock hazard or fault
may be caused.
Wires should be the proper one meeting the ratings of this instrument. If
using a wire which cannot endure the ratings, a fire may occur.
Avoid installing this instrument near an electrical unit (high frequency
furnace or electric welder) that generates much electrical noise.
Be sure to connect a power supply of correct rating. Otherwise, fire may
result.
Do the work in a condition where the main power has be turned OFF. If
the work is done while current is flowing, there is a fear of getting
electrical shock.
During operation, avoid opening the casing and touching the internal
parts. Otherwise, you may suffer a bum or shock hazard.
Do not use any object with a sharp tip when operating the function keys
on the instrument panel.
Before working, take off the wrist watch, finger ring or metallic
accessories. Never touch the instrument with a wet hand; otherwise, you
will have a shock hazard.
If the fuse is blown, eliminate the cause, and then replace it with the one of
the same capacity and type as before. Otherwise, shock hazard or fault
may be caused. Avoid installing this instrument near an electrical unit
(high frequency furnace or electric welder) that generates much electrical
noise.
Before removing Zirconia sensor probe for maintenance, let it cool down
for few minutes as sensor heats upto 700 deg C during operation. If probe
removed immediately after switching OFF the instrument, you may suffer
a burn.
Cleaning of instrument. Do not use solvents such as benzene, thinner,
etc., as it damages the case.
Please hand over the instruction manuals to your end users so that they can
keep the manuals on hand for convenient reference.
Please read the information thoroughly before using the product.
The purpose of these manuals is not to warrant that the product is well
suited to any particular purpose but rather to describe the functional details
of the product.
No part of the manuals may be transferred or reproduced without prior
written consent from Bhoomi Analyzers.

2. INTRODUCTION
The product described in this operating manual has been examined before delivery and
dispatched in perfect condition related to safety regulations. In order to keep this condition and
to guarantee a safe operation, it is important to heed the notes and prescriptions made in this
operating manual. Furthermore, attention must be paid to appropriate transportation, correct
storage, as well as professional installation and maintenance work. All necessary information a
skilled staff will need for appropriate use of this product are given in this operating manual.
It is a high quality instrument produced using the latest technology. The BI 7300 is easy to use
and maintain. Please read the operating manual carefully before operating the instrument. It
contains valuable tips and information for trouble-free operation. Regular maintenance will
help to keep your analyzer ready for use at all times.
The BI 7300 is Stack Flowmeter which continuously measures Velocity in stack using Multiport
Pitot Tube. It is based of differential pressure - flow measurement principle and compensated
for pressure and temperature. In addition to velocity; temperature, static pressure and flow rate
of emission gases can also be measured.
Stack Flowmeter comprises of pitot tube, differential pressure transmitter, absolute pressure
sensor, temperature sensor, control unit for computation of velocity and gas flow rate & Auto
Purge unit.
The Stack Flow meter features fully automatic purge system for high dust concentrations in
stack. The system purges the pitot tube automatically and periodically at regular intervals in
order to avoid blockages even with large dust and particle loads to guarantee maintenance free
continuous operations.
It is 24VDC power operated with 4-20 mA analog output & 3 Nos. relay. The analyzer has RS485
interface and also supports MODBUS protocol.
Technology
Stack flow measurement is based on Bernoulli's principle using pitot tube. The pitot tube is
constructed of two in-line tubes. The sampling point of the pitot tube consists of two opposing
open faces perpendicular to the traverse axis. A side view of the probe resembles two stacked
tubes with the ends tapered away from one another and the openings planed parallel to the
horizontal axis. The tube facing towards the stack gas flow have multiple ports where dynamic
pressure is measured, whereas the tube face opposite to stack gas flow have one port where
static pressure is measured. The pressure difference is measured using differential pressure
transmitter.

6. INSTALLATION
Before opening the package, check the package carefully for any sign of external damage. The
equipment is carefully packed at the factory to prevent damage, but in the event the shipment
shows any sign of damage, please inspect the damage and report the details of the damage to
the transporters immediately. Damage in transit, by mishandling is not covered under
manufacturer’s warranty.
Open the package carefully. The shipment contains ceramic material, which can be easily
damaged by careless handling. On rare occasion, when the equipment is damaged, check the
nature of the damage to the equipment in detail and inform BHOOMI as well as your insurance
company immediately. The damaged equipment claims should be placed without delay to your
insurance company.
1.1. Location
Flow measurements require appropriate sampling ports and working platforms. The
installation of measurement ports and working platforms should be considered in the planning
phase of a measurement section, refer figure 6.2.1 & 6.2.2
The mounting arrangement for Pitot tube is based on EN 15259 criteria for selection of
measuring port locations, for details refer EN15259 Standards. An ideal location for the tube
should have easy access for maintenance work.
The flange extensions should be installed with the bolt holes at 45˚ to the vertical, as shown in
figure above
There should be at least 250mm clear extension tube between the support structure and the
mounting flange, in order to reduce the heat conducted between the stack and the mounting
flanges
7. Wiring
Before switching ON the Unit the following connections have to be made between Stack
flowmeter Junction Box and Control Unit.
Do not disturb the factory wire connections of the inner probe wires, to
prevent damage to the platinum conductor or to the inner probe assembly.
Assemble the cable to the stack flowmeter junction box, if not done at the
factory, and make the wiring connections as shown in the wiring diagram.
The IP 65 electronic box can be easily mounted on a flat plate with two bolts.
The cable length of six meters (20 feet) is standard. The cell output is a mill
volt signal and cannot be transmitted efficiently over long distances. The
Enclosure should be mounted within six meters distance protected from the
hot surfaces and hostile weather elements.
Refer to the wiring diagram for the connections at the IP 65 Enclosure. Make
sure the thermocouple wires polarity is not reversed.
8. OPERATIONS
Stack Flowmeter BI 7300 is a factory configured to default setting prior to dispatch. User can
change the setting according to application requirement through User mode.
Once analyzer is powered ON, screen will display details about Bhoomi, instrument name,

Grounding:
It is essential that adequate grounding precautions are taken when the system is being installed.
A through cheek must be made at both the probe and electronics to ensure that the grounding
quality has not degraded during fault finding. The facility for 100% effective grounding has been
provided in the system.
Electric Noise:
The system has been designed to operate in the type of environment normally found in
industrial zone. Noise suppression circuits are incorporated in system. All cable shields must be
connected to earth.
Electrostatic Discharge:
Electro Static discharge can damage the IC’s used in the electronics unit. It is essential before
removing or handling the processor board or the IC’s used on it that the user ensures he/she is
at ground potential.
To calibrate output low, Press key and set output low value to 04.00. To change
value press key. To save the changes press key. Connect Digital
multimeter at the 4-20 mA output terminal of analyzer. Once digital multimeter shows 4
