1. This paper consists of sections A and B with a total of eight (08) questions.
2. Answer all questions in section A and only two (02) questions from section B.
3. Section A carries sixty (60) marks and Section B carries forty (40) marks.
4. All work done in answering each question must be shown clearly
5. NECTA’s mathematical tables and non-programmable calculators may be used.
6. Write your Examination Number on every page of your answer booklet(s).

SECTION A (60 Marks)
1. (a) A and B are two events where P(A) = ½ , P(B) = ⅓ and P(A|B) = ¼ find
(i) P(A∩B)
(ii) P(AUB)
(b) A discreet random variable x has the following probability distribution.

(b) The probability that a student suffers from a particular medical problem is 0.01.
