Site Description:
This site has a contract between 4 season and Quality construction company
(QCC). This contracts time period is for 4 years and approx. 2 and half year left consist on
4 basement and 14 floor with the total area of ground 23,000 sq.ft .Total est. price is 10
Arab.

complete explanation of the interior of the building including its basements and upper floor of
the building.

Report / Summary:
Introduction:
This is the report about the visit at construction site. The site we chose to visit is a
private site between to independent companies and its interval is about 4 years.
The grey structure of the building was under construction. They have completed 4 basements
and 2 floors of the building. The weather was fairly good and it is being constructed under
complete survielence . It is being constructed according to the position of sun in winter and
summer both. The site engineer guided us completely and tell us about each and every thing.
It was a god experience as a student.

Objective:
These are the objectives we get to know after visit:
 Material usage in real life
 Construction site and their rules
 Get to know about different situations and their solution
 You have to be patient
 How to deal with labours

Observation:
We have observe that you have to be patient and you should know how to deal with
your seniors and your labours. We also get to know about the prices of material. We also
observe that nature is not always on your side you have to deal with different situations.

Quality of work:
Quality of work was excellent every one was doing its own work heartdly. Everyone
know what the should do and how they should do and when they should do.

Safety:
Safety is one of the main factor to work at any place and every one should consider it without
any reason and at the site everyone was wearing their complete helmets, gloves, and jackets
etc.

Progress:
The progress of the building is going efficiently . This has been started since 1.5 years and it
has time interval of 4 years. According to its time interval it is going in good condition and
the progress of the building was good.

This is all about the construction site building. Now we will talk about construction
material and their uses. But first we will know about the construction material.

Introduction to construction material:

Construction materials are the fundamental components that make up the built
environment. From the sturdy foundations to the sleek finishes, each material plays a crucial
role in shaping the structures we live, work, and interact with on a daily basis.

Description of Material used :

Crush:
They have use Sargodha crush in the construction material. They use Sargodha crush
because of its strength and durability of structure. Its is also known as Rori or Bajri .
 They have use ¾ and 3/8 size of Sargodha crush.
 The rate of crush is about 132 pkr per sq.ft

Sand:
They have use Lawrancepur or Chenab sand in the construction material .
 Lawrancepur sand
 Chenab sand

Lawrencepur sand:
Lawrencepur sand is granulary as compared to other sands. It is also offer less price
than other.

Chenab sand:
Is a type of construction sand widely used in Central and Upper Punjab, as well as the
Islamabad region.It is used for its long lasting stability.It is costly as compared to other.

Cement:
They use the cement of different brands like:OPC , Mapel , Gold.

Mapal cements rate is 1245-1255 pkr. It is a bag of 50kg.

Steel:
They have use different type of steel for coloumns , beams , slabs etc. These steels thickness
is as follow:
2 sootar, 3 sootar , 6 sootar , 4 sootar , 32mm .
 Slab 3500psi
 Coloum 6000psi
 Share wall 6000psi

Brick:
They did not use brick yet because it was the grey structure of the the building so we did not
see any brick there. They will use it in future for finishing purpuses.
The brick which they used early was the brand of 4U and its was first class brick.
Unfortunately we did not have the picture of the brick but here is the grey structure of the
building.

Wood:
Wood is a versatile and renewable material that offers exceptional strength and longevity
when properly treated and maintained
They use the wood for support for the roof , coloumns and beams. The wood use here was
good quality and had good strength for supporting. As we can see in the picture the are using
it for stairs and supporting purpose also.

Concrete:
Concrete is the mixture of cement, water, sand, and crushed stone.It can be used for
binding materials and can be deformed in various structures for various purposes.It is used in
RCC structures like beam and coloumns etc.
 Beam:
A beam is a structural element that primarily resists loads applied laterally across the
beam's axis.
 Colomn:
A column is a vertical load-bearing member supporting axial compressive loads chiefly

FINE CRUSH:
Fine crush was used as a component in concrete mixtures It has used at the site to enhances
the strength and work ability of concrete. The Fine crushed stone acted as a powerful binding
agent when mixed with concrete.

SOIL:
Soil is a primary component in cement production.The soil is molded into brick shapes, dried,
and then fired in kilns to harden them. These bricks are widely used in construction. At the
construction site that we visited, soil was used as the foundation for ground walls.

AGGREGATE:
Aggregate is often used as a material that is fixed with a binding substance to form concrete
or mortar. Two types of aggregate can be used for construction project. The project that we
visited they used Coarse Aggregate.

They have use the aggregate of 20 mm at site.

Machinery used at site:

First we will disscuss its importance uses and its introduction.

Introduction to Construction Site Machinery:

Construction sites are bustling with a variety of specialized machinery that play a
crucial role in the building process. From powerful excavators to maneuverable skid steer
loaders, these machines enable efficient and effective construction.

Digging Power:
Excavators are equipped with a large bucket attached to a long, articulated arm,
allowing them to dig, move, and load heavy materials with ease.

Versatility:
These machines can be fitted with a variety of attachments, such as grapples, hammers, and
rippers, making them useful for diverse construction tasks.

Uses of machinery:

1-Land Clearing:
Bulldozers are equipped with a large, metal blade that can push, move, and clear large
amounts of earth, rocks, and vegetation.

2-Grading and Leveling:

These machines can be used to level and grade the ground, preparing the site for construction
and ensuring a stable foundation.

3-Strength and Durability:

Bulldozers are built to withstand the rigors of construction work, with powerful engines and
sturdy frames that enable them to tackle even the toughest tasks.

Safety Considerations for Construction Machinery:

 Proper training ensures operators can safely and effectively use the machinery,
minimizing the risk of accidents.
 Regular maintenance and thorough inspections help keep the machines in good
working condition, preventing breakdowns and malfunctions.
 Operators must be aware of their surroundings, including the location of workers,
obstacles, and potential hazards, to ensure safe operation.
 Workers on the construction site must wear appropriate PPE, such as hard hats, safety
glasses, and high-visibility vests, to protect themselves.

This is all about uses and safety consideration and all the uses od machinery use at
construction site. But here we will discuss few of them which we use oftenly.

Description of machinery used at site:

1-Hand carrier:
It is used to carry cement, brick, sand, wood etc. It is also helpful to carry a
large amount of material in a short interval of time.

2-Concrete mixture:
They have use this for the mixture of cement, water and sand to use in roof, slabs and
coloums.

Lift:
They use lift to carry weight from ground floor to upper floors.

4-Drilling machine:
A power tool used to create cylindrical holes in the walls.
 The tool bit is rotated at high speed and pressed into the workpiece to create a
cylindrical holes that passes either partway (blind hole) or all the way through the
part.

5-Metal cutting machine:

Machine tools used to fabricate parts by the removal of material, typically metal.
 It is used to cut steel which we use in roof, coloumns, beams etc.

These are the few of the basic machinery we used at construction site in daily bases.

The conclusion we get after visit of site is as follow:
The construction materials we choose play a vital role in shaping the built environment and
