Overall, there were increases in the percentage of young people’s participation in
countries A, C, and D except for that of country B. In addition, country D had the highest
percentage of young people entering in higher education while participation levels in
country B was the lowest.
Looking first at in countries A and D, in 2000, 60% of youngsters in country D entered
university education, while that of country A was lower, at about 38%. A decade later,
both figures increased considerably to nearly 80% and 59% respectively.
Turning to the other countries, 40% was the percentage of younsters in country B
atteding higher education in 2000, compared to 50% of country C. The former decreased
slightly by about 2% before increasing to 40% in 2010. The latter remained unchanged at
around 52% in the remaining years.
