Course Description This course examines the principles of conceptualizing, planning, managing and evaluating events, conferences, meetings,
festivals and other such special activities. Topics include the significance of conventions and events in tourism. Lessons include
discussions on event conceptualization, event design, project/event design, methods of monitoring and evaluation, physical
requirements, organizing, promotions, sponsorships and handling the financial aspect of such task. They will give the students the
skills and knowledge to develop business strategies to get MICE business and retain the clients, as well as to identify, understand

Course Policies A. Attendance and Participation:
A student who incurred 8 absences shall be dropped from the class and will receive a grade of “5.0”, in the event that a student due to
unavoidable cause, is absent from the class must obtained an excuse letter signed by the dean that must be presented to the teacher
not later than the second session following the student’s return. If absent, it is the student’s responsibility to find out about any
announcement or information supplied in class that day.
B. Cheating and Plagiarism
Be a creative and critical thinker do not copy paste and avoid plagiarism and cheating, it may cost you your studies and your reputation.
Anyone caught cheating and plagiarize will have penalties as based on University Manual.
C. Language of Instruction
Lectures, discussions and documentation will be in English.
D. Failure to Submit Requirements:
A student who will fail to submit a course requirement/s without a valid reason should consult the instructor for the compliance
immediately. No compliance of requirements might result to a failure of passing the course.
E. Use of Technology
Cellphones should be turned off or switched to silent mode when inside the classroom. If a student needs to answer a call, he/she must
go out of the classroom before answering the call.
F. Assignment
Students are expected to do their homework. Points will be deducted on homework or assignments submitted late. The homework
assignment being turned by the students is expected to be primarily their own. Students may work with others to complete the
problems if they satisfy two requirements: a) if someone provided the student answer to any step in the problem, then he/she must
give credit to that person, and b) the students must understand all of what he/she turn in.
G. PWD
Students with poor eyesight and impaired hearing are given priority to be seated in the front row .
