Rules and Regulations


1. The tournament shall be played under the FIDE Laws of Chess under Swiss League
System with 9 rounds.
2. Each player will have 15 minutes with an addition of 3 seconds per move starting from
move number one.
3. Default Time – 15 minutes
4. Tie breaks - (i) Buchholz cut 1, (ii) Buchholz, (iii) SB, (iv) Direct Encounter, (v) Greater
number of wins (including forfeit points), (vi) Greater number of Victories from Black.
5. No electronic devices/watches (any type) are allowed inside the playing area.
6. The management is not responsible for any mishap or untoward incident that
happens at the venue.
7. The tournament organizers reserve the right to make any necessary changes.

8. The tournament organizers have the right to Accept or Reject any entry without further
explanation.
9. Coaches and accompanying person are prohibited from entering the playing hall
starting from Round 1.
10. All prize winners are bound to attend the prize distribution ceremony if they want to
claim their prizes.

It is thereby considered that all players have thoroughly read and understood
the rules and regulations, and not following the same will lead to subsequent
action against them.
Protests
If any against the decision of the Chief Arbiter, shall be made in writing with
a protest fee of Rs.1000/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident.
The amount shall be refunded if the appeal is upheld.

Appeals Committee
A three-member Committee of Appeals (inclusive of 2-reserves) shall be formed
from amongst players/officials/coaches present on the Inaugural day. The decisions
of the Appeals Committee would be final and binding on all the players.

No Spot Entry Will Be Accepted.

All India Chess Federation (AICF) and Maharashtra Chess Association (MCA) Registration

All players must have a renewed AICF and MCA (for Maharashtra
Players) ID for the year 2025-2026 before the start of the tournament.
The renewal should be done on 1st April, 2025.
Players will not be paired without a valid AICF and MCA ID.
