How-To Configure MFA – Authentication Using Mobile Application

IN THIS TASK SUMMARY

This Process document describes about how to configure MFA using mobile Application once
MFA has been enforced for the user.

Pre-Requisite: From your phone, if using iPhone download Microsoft Authenticator App
from App Store, if using Android download Microsoft Authenticator App from Play store.

Process:

1. Once MFA has been enforced for the user, you will receive an email
from the team regarding the same.
2. Open Incognito Window on the chrome browser and open the
following website www.office365.com
3. Login using your SRAI credentials. You will be prompted to the below
message.

4. Hit Next and you will see the below options.


5. Under Step 1 change the option to Mobile app and receive
notifications for Verification and hit next, as shown below.

6. Hit Set up and you will see the below screen.


7. Now open the Application installed on your mobile device, on the top
right you will see + symbol to add an account, click on it and select
the option Work or School account.

8. Once you hit that it will ask you to scan the QR code, like the pic
attached in point 6. Scan it and hit next. You will receive a notification
to approve or deny on the mobile, approve it and you will see the
below message.

9. Hit next and it will take you to step 2 and will ask your mobile number
as a backup. Provide the necessary information, hit next and finish.

From now will start receiving push notifications when you try to login
to the office from different networks, or you try to login for the first
time from different browsers, different machines etc.

10. If for any reason you are not receiving push notifications( when
no internet connectivity on the mobile ) follow the steps below as
backup.
Select Sign in another way, you will see the below options
11. Select use a verification code from my mobile app, open the
app on the mobile, there will be six-digit code changing every 30
seconds, use that and you will be able to log in successfully.
