and answer the following questions:

Solution: Cakes made by Mr. Smith’s Bakery:

Chocolate cake

Cheese cake

Ice – cream cake

Log cake
1 = 10 cakes

a) How many more chocolate cakes than log cakes did Mr. Smith make?
Solution: 30 – 20 = 10
Ans. 10

b) An ice - cream cake was sold for ₹ 12, how much did he get by selling ice – cream cakes?
Solution: 15 x ₹12 = ₹180
Ans. ₹ 180

c) A cheese cake costs ₹ 8 and a log cake costs ₹ 3, find the difference in the total cost of these
types of cakes.
Solution: Cost of cheese cakes = ₹ 8 x 40 = ₹ 320
Cost of log cakes = ₹ 3 x 20 = ₹ 60
So, the difference between the cost of two types of cakes = ₹320 - ₹60 = ₹ 260
Ans. ₹ 260

d) What is the total number of cakes he made?


Solution: 30 + 40 + 15 + 20 = 105
Ans. 105 cakes
