Magic
The native's names for these magic users are Pirtae for Portalcrafters, Elri for Matterdancers, Shvey for
Essenceweavers, and Inkar for Runebinding.
- Create potions that heal, enhance physical abilities, or grant temporary powers, or throwable toxic
potions;
- Transmute substances such as turning water into a healing drink or turning metals into stronger
alloys (e.g. glowing sword or fire sword);
- Enhancing or mutating creatures, plants, or even humanoids with new traits (e.g. immunity to toxins,
increase mental stamina);
- Camouflage by altering skin tone and features to blend into the environment;
- Empowering Weapons and Armor, such as enhance weapon damage, accuracy, or elemental effects
or strengthen armor and resistance to elemental damage.
- Creating Enchanted Objects with Utility and Effects, such as Rune-Lit Lanterns or Rune-Infused maps
(may highlight hidden locations, portals, or reveal secrets not normally visible) or compasses (always
points towards a specific destination, even through shifting realities).
- Protection and Ward Systems, such as Ward Runes (on walls, doors, or objects to ward off dangers
like traps, intruders, or malevolent forces) or Barrier Runes (barriers or shields that deflect attacks or
prevent entry by certain entities).
- Creating Magical Constructs, such as giving life or function to inanimate objects like statues,
golems, or automatons with runic energy. Also imbuing objects with runic inscriptions that empower
them to act autonomously or perform specific tasks.
- Healing and Biological Enhancements, such imbuing objects like medical kits or devices with runes
that promote rapid healing or biological regeneration. Cannot regrow limbs like Shevy.
- Time and Space Manipulation with Runes. Such as creating items to influence time, to slow down or
speed up events. Or items that teleport user a set distance in a direction. Does not replace Pirtae
because cannot set it to always teleport to a static point like someone's house because the planet
moves through space.
Combat Applications:
- Weapon Creation and Control: Matterdancers can telekinetically shape and hurl objects like rocks,
debris, or even molten metal as projectiles, enhancing their destructive power.
- Defensive Shields: They can create barriers of solid materials—like walls of earth, metal, or reinforced
air—that block incoming attacks or deflect projectiles.
- Tactical Environment Control: In battle, they can manipulate the battlefield by collapsing walls,
creating temporary choke points, or lifting enemies off the ground, disrupting their balance.
- Controlled Destruction: Matterdancers can ignite and control flames or explosively disperse gases,
using the power of fire and explosions as devastating attacks.
- Telekinetic Hold or Disarming: By immobilizing opponents using telekinesis, they can restrain
enemies, restricting their movement and leaving them vulnerable. Matterdancers can telekinetically
disarm enemies, hurling their weapons away or pinning them to the ground.
- Environmental Engineering: Matterdancers can reshape the landscape, flattening terrain, forming
new paths, or removing obstacles like boulders or fallen trees.
- Creating Explosive Devices: Matterdancers can harness and control volatile gases or ignite
controlled explosions, useful for clearing paths or breaking through barriers.
- Fire & Gas Control: They can control and extinguish flames, disperse smoke or gases, or create
controlled burns to clear large areas.
- Movement Enhancement: Matterdancers can enhance their own physical abilities—lifting heavy
objects, creating momentum for swift movement, or channeling kinetic energy into their strikes for
greater force.
Combat Applications:
- Rapid Deployment and Reinforcements: Portal crafters can create portals to transport themselves,
allies, or enemies quickly across the battlefield, enabling surprise attacks, retreats, or reinforcements.
- Teleportation for Mobility: They can instantly teleport across the battlefield, dodging attacks,
repositioning for tactical advantage, or delivering swift strikes from unexpected angles.
- Disruptive Portals: Portal crafters can open portals directly under opponents, disorienting them or
dropping them into dangerous environments (like chasms, lava pits, or trapped locations).
- Teleporting Projectiles: Portal crafters can create portals to redirect or teleport incoming projectiles,
turning enemy attacks against them.
- Battlefield Control: They can cut off or isolate sections of the battlefield, forcing enemies into
unfavorable positions, or create escape routes for themselves or their allies.
- Surprise Attacks: By appearing behind enemies via teleportation, they can launch devastating
surprise attacks, exploiting confusion.
- Navigating Hazardous Environments: Portal crafters can open portals to bypass dangerous terrain,
cross gaps, or traverse treacherous landscapes, making exploration safer and more efficient.
- Mapping & Discovery: Portals can be used to mark hidden locations, ancient ruins, or other
important landmarks, making navigation easier and revealing previously unseen secrets.
- Restoration and Supply Lines: They can create portals to carry supplies, equipment, or
reinforcements to remote or hard-to-reach locations.
- Fast Travel: Portals allow for rapid long-distance travel, reducing the time required to explore
uncharted lands or traverse vast distances.
- Resource Gathering: Portals can be used to access remote or dangerous locations, gathering rare
resources or materials that would otherwise be inaccessible.
- Evasion and Escape Routes: In life-threatening situations, portal crafters can create escape routes,
leading to hidden or safe zones, allowing their team to avoid capture or danger.
