connected transformers with similar secondary windings, when the load 10 M CO 1 L3
on one furnace is 500kW and on the other 800kW, what current will
flow in each of the 3 lines at unity power factor. Draw the circuit and
phasor diagram.
3. a) i) Discuss the necessary conditions for the parallel operation of two
10 M CO 2 L1
transformers.
ii) With neat diagram explain the working principle of current transformer
Two transformers A and B are joined in parallel to the same load. Determine
b) the current delivered by each transformer given open circuit emf is 6600 V for
A and 6400 V for B .Equivalent impedance on secondary are (0.3+j3) Ohms 10 M CO 2 L1
for A and (0.2+j1) Ohms for B and load impedance is (8+j6) Ohms. Also find
the circulating current at no load.

(OR)
4. a) Derive an expression for the saving of copper effected by using an 10 M CO 2 L5
autotransformer instead of a two winding transformer.
Two 250 kVA transformer supplying a network are connected in parallel on
10 M CO 2 L3
b) both primary and secondary sides. Their voltage ratios are the same. The
resistance drops are 1.5 % and 0.9 % and the reactance drops are 3.33 % and 4
