Scope of Work: SS PIPE CUTTING, GRINDING, FIT-UP, WELDING OF


HYDROGEN LINES, OXYGEN LINES, ALKALINE WATER LINE &
PROCESS WATER LINES and Support Fabrication

01) Task Description- SS pipe cutting, grinding, fit-up, welding,


of Hydrogen, Alkaline, Oxygen, process water lines

02) PPE:
❖ Safety Helmet
❖ Safety Shoes
❖ Reflective Jacket
❖ Safety Goggle
❖ Cotton hand gloves
❖ Full body harness with shock absorber
❖ Fire extinguisher
❖ Face Shield
❖ Lather hand gloves
❖ Full body apron
❖ Face shield
❖ Electrode Bucket

03) Equipment’s:
❖ Gas Cutting Set (3 or 4 wheel trolley, double / single stage regulator
and 3 Way pipe torch)
❖ Grinding machine
❖ Welding machine with argon set.
❖ Spanner
❖ Fire extinguisher
❖ Lifting tools and tackles (Wire rope sling, web sling, bow shackles, D
shackles and guide rope)
❖ Pick and carry / crane
04) Description of work / Sequence of Work:
❖ Arrangement of cutting, grinding machine at work area.
❖ Monitor the surrounding area for keeping easily flammable material
at safe distance
❖ Arrangement of Welding machine, Argon Cylinders and Welding Set
❖ Area should be barricaded for unstable and loose floor area
❖ Erection of scaffolding platform during height work or elevated work.
❖ Isolation of pipe line if any part is in high tension.
❖ Ensure the Isolation of pipe line.
❖ Venting of pipe line by Argon at welding time.
❖ Decontamination of pipe line.
❖ We will mark the place where the pipe has to be cut.
❖ Positioning of pick & carry/Crane.
❖ Use the lifting web sling and Bow shackles.
❖ Cutting of pipe by grinder.
❖ Removal of cutting pipe by pick & carry /crane if any.
❖ Grinding and beveling of pipe end.
❖ Lifting and positioning the spool piece by pick & carry/crane.
❖ Install all pipe fittings and Fit-up, welding, visual, and radiography
test.
❖ Install Proper pipe supports.
❖ Installation of valves, gasket and blinding.
❖ Tightening the stud of all Flange joints.
❖ Complete the loop then doing hydro test or pneumatic test as per
requirement.
❖ Attending all punch point.

07) JOB Analysis-

Safety with the work checked and same to be strictly implemented during execution of work.

7) Job specific TBT:


1. TBT meeting will be held before dismantling, Erection and fit-up of spool and lifting at
least to ensure dismantling, Erection and fit-up of pipe that the, pipe lift can be executed in a
safe and efficient manner.

08) Check point:


1. Skilled workmen I.e., rigger, gas cutter, Grinder, Signal Man and authorized Picked carry
crane operators will be allowed for Erection, Dismantling and lifting of structure and pipe.
2. All Cutting and lifting tools and tackles and rigging equipment must be in good condition
(distortion free).
3. Area to be barricaded and signage board to be displayed and it is to be ensured that no
other person except those who are required will be present inside the barricade area.
4. Check ground conditions before starting work.
5. Ensure there are no overhead electrical wires.
6. Base out scaffold and erect base lift.
7. Correct tools should be used to tighten the nuts.
8. Check the scaffold components for damage prior to installation.
9. Scaffolding should not be slippery, greasy or oily.
10. Only authorized scaffolders (5 Scaffolder) are allowed to engage in specific job.
11. Railing (mid rail, top rail) must be provided.
12. Toe board must be provided.
13. Loose tools should be tied up or must be carried in a bag.
14. Scaffold must be inspected prior to start the work by competent person.
15. Ensure the working area should be inspected and barricaded prior to start the work.
16. Ensure that the platform and ladders must be non-slippery.
17. Working platform should be cleared.
18. Full body harness should be anchored properly.
19 .No people will be allowed under suspended load.
20. Ensure mandatory and job specific PPE before starting the job.
21. Ladder to be used for de-slinging of tackles. (If required)
22. Ladder shall be supported at the bottom.
23. Full body harness must be used while working at height.
24. Required proper scaffolding platform for doing work at height.
25. Work should be carried out under proper supervision only.
26. TBT will be conducted prior starting the job and all associated hazards shall be
discussed with the engaged crew.
27. Only trained signalman shall give the signal while lifting.
28. Double tag lines should be used to secure the load on both ends of dismantling material.
29. Ensure that workmen keep their hands / leg away from pinch points and all workmen
should keep a safe distance.
30. Double / single stage regulator to be used.
31. 3 pipe torch to be used for gas cutting work.
33. JSA to be followed.
34. Please barricade lifting area.
35. Keep distance from lifting activities.
36. Please ensure safety harness are hook during working.
37. Use a lanyard to prevent tools falling down.
