School background
▸ Badian NHS is also
considered as the largest
Regular Secondary School
in the Southwest Cebu
area. Total area of 5.4
hectares.

▸ Badian NHS is one of the operating schools
in the province with 83 teachers in JHS and
24 SHS teachers and 13 Non-teaching
personnel and 4 Job-orders.

▸ Badian NHS has been offering general
program since the beginning and has been
nationally acknowledged with the offering
Science Technology and Engineering
program of Junior HS since this Special
Science Program has started.

▸ Badian NHS is also one of the schools in
Region VII Offering the Special Program for
the Arts (SPA) which started last School
Year 2018-2019. Last June 30, 2022, the
first batch of SPA students pioneered the
completion of JHS SPA Program.

▸ Badian NHS SHS is considered as one the
SHS school offering multi-track and strand
in the SHS Curriculum offering STEM, ABM,
HUMSS and TVL Track.

▸ This school year, there are 40 sections of General
Program, 8 Sections of STE and 8 sections of SPA
in the JHS – a total of 56 sections with only 43
rooms for the total enrolment of Junior HS of
2,822. Senior HS has 33 sections with the total
enrolment 1, 765 for only 20 classrooms. Overall
total student population is 4, 589.

▸ Our school is now confronted with the lack of
teachers, classrooms and scarcity of arm-chairs and
seats due to the surge of enrolment in both JHS
and SHS. That is why we have the shifting
schedule of classes to use our existing classrooms
for classes in all sections.

▸ Since we are having the face to face
classes, we will be using again the following
grading system. But, if there is another
update regarding the grading system,
parents will be notified.

Common problems met by the school
with regards to promotion and
retention of students
▸ a. Absences - absences must not exceed
the 20% limit on the total number of
required school days as per provision of the enclosure of
DO 8, s, 2015 section VII paragraph 3, pp. 23 which states that “A
learner who incurs absences of more than 20 % of the prescribed
number of class or laboratory periods during the school year or
semester should be given a failing grade and not earn credits for the
learning area or subjects”.

▸ b. Failure to work (process) and failure
to submit projects (output) and failure
to perform (outcome) and failure of the
periodic written works (Quarterly
assessment) in all learning areas.

Parents can help our learner’s
progress
▸ a. Constant follow-up to their school
children as to attendance, punctuality,
compliance of needed output and
outcome and to study their lessons as
often as possible.

▸ b. Remind their school children to
wear their proper school attire, school
ID, prescribed haircut and not tolerate
their male children to have earrings
and may ear piercing and tattoos.
