INTRODUCTION
A materials system composed of two or more physically distinct phases whose combination
produces aggregate properties that are different from those of its constituents. or Two or more
chemically distinct materials which when combined have improved properties over the individual
materials known as composite materials. Composites could be natural or synthetic.
Fabrication: Composite materials are created from individual materials. These
individual materials are known as constituent materials, and there are two main
categories of it. One is the matrix (binder) and the other reinforcement.
OBJECTIVE OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS
HIGH STRENGTH
CORROISON AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
IMPROVED MECHANICAL PROPERTY
THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES
COST EFFECTIVENESS
DESIGN FLEXIBILITY
SUSTAINABILITY
LITERATURE SURVEY
Composite materials are engineered materials made by combining two or more different
substances, where one serves as the matrix and the other as the reinforcement. The combination
enhances mechanical, thermal, and other properties beyond those of the individual components.
CLASSIFICATION OF NATURAL FIBRES
WHY BANANA FIBER
Strength
Banana fiber is 15 times stronger than
cotton and 10 times durable than linen.
It has a high tensile strength and
modulus.
Environmental benefits
Banana fiber production uses less
resources than conventional textiles,as
cotton.
It consumes less water, pesticides, and
synthetic chemicals.
Banana fiber is biodegradable and
decomposes naturally.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
DIFFERENT TYPES OF BANANA FIBER BEING USED
