LD800HSE - Wiring

Wiring Layout - Overview

ABB University. Chapter 04-6

Assembly Basics – Power

 The supply voltage (24V DC ± 20%) is connected

by a 3-pole terminal block. Wire diameter: 0.2 – 2.5
mm 2, AWG 24-12 Replacement parts for the
terminal block can be obtained from PHOENIX
CONTACT (http://www.phoenixcontact.com), type
MSTB 2,5/3-STF.
 24Vdc input voltage is converted into 5Vdc and
3.3Vdc
 Protection against wrong polarity and over
voltage is provided.
A separate screw connection is available for
grounding. All shield contacts of COM, HSE and
H1 fieldbus ports and the housing are
interconnected.

ABB University. Chapter 04-7

Serial Interface & HSE Ethernet Port

Serial Interface
 The serial interface RS-232 is not galvanically isolated.
 The maximum cable length is 3 m according to EMC requirements.
The baud rate is pre configured to 115,2 kbit/s.

10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet Port (HSE High Speed Ethernet Port)

 The Ethernet port corresponds to the standards IEEE 802.3 100BASE-
TX/10BASE-T and supports auto negotiation.
The pin assignment corresponds to MDI (Medium Dependent Interface).

ABB University. Chapter 04-8

F1 Connection
FF H1 Fieldbus Connection
 With 3-pole terminal blocks, up to 4 separate fieldbus
segments can be connected.
 The FF-H1 interfaces comply with type 114 of the FF
physical layer profile, which is characterized by
• standard power signaling and voltage mode
• separately powered operation (galvanically isolated)
• no intrinsic safety
 The fieldbus cables +/- can be interchanged.
 Wire diameter: 0.14 - 1.5 mm 2, AWG 28-16
Replacement parts for the terminal block can be obtained from
PHOENIX CONTACT (http://www.phoenixcontact.com) as part
type MC 1,5/3-STF-3,81.

ABB University. Chapter 04-9

Processor & Memory

CPU
 Motorola MPC855T
 PowerPC architecture (32bit)
 Clock speed: 50 MHz (resulting in 66MIPS)
 Ethernet on board (10/100 BaseT autosense)
 Interrupt controller, Timer
 RTC, Portpins, Watchdog

Memory
 4MB
 Flash memory
 Storage of application and operating system
(compressed), no HD necessary

ABB University. Chapter 04-10

Configuration Limitations
H1 (per channel):
 Max. number of connections: 128
 Max. number of LAS schedules: 2
 Max. number of subschedules: 4
 Max. number of sequences per subschedule: 64
 Max. number of elements per sequence: 4
 Function blocks are not supported on the LD

 Max. total number of VCRs: 528
Matches the values for HSE, H1 connections

ABB University. Chapter 04-11

Redundancy

 Mutual monitoring via Ethernet and serial connection

 Synchronization of network configuration between primary and
backup via serial line (w/o configuration tool)
 Switch over methods: automatic, on-demand (cfg-tool)
 Publisher/Subscriber, Source/Sink connections maintained
 Client/Server connections need reestablishment
Individual IP address for backup (=> visible for diagnostic purposes)

ABB University. Chapter 04-12

Redundancy H1 and HSE

H1 Link Redundancy
 Failure of LAS (=LD) results in pause on H1 bus, reported to monitoring instance
 Failure of LD in one link leads to switch over
LD Application / HSE Level Redundancy
Cyclic exchange of life-signs via serial link (intervals 50ms max.)
 Additional monitoring via TCP connection (generic messages) to avoid switch-over due to failure
of serial interface (failure of serial communication visible in diagnostic interface)
 If primary doesn‘t‚’see‘ backup neither via TCP nor via serial, if refrains from LAS role in H1 links
Secondary LD detects H1 failure and takes over (transfer of LAS role)

Netmask: 255.255.255.0
- check connection with ‚ping‘
- access networt configuration at http://192.168.212.212/bin/changeconfig
- login: config, password: MakeIt
- alternatively: use telnet connection
Access via serial connection
- parameters: baudrate 9600, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, even parity
